UP Sled..eh
Newbie
Waiting for my Apex Mountain to get here. I was talking with some friends and the suggestion of ski scratchers came up. Just in case we end up on the trails looking for logging roads. What are the best ones to put on it?

eh - We need to get Tom Hartman to make them fit on the new ski's

Ya.....You have a line on that already?

Nope - Hartman says he is too busy to figure it out. I guess it is up to you and me eh?
I'm working on it right now. Not sure which way I will go but looking at a press in insert for the spring "tab" and then a small bracket to hang the end of the spring on. ===SRXSRULE===

Rule - Glad we are not the only ones having this trouble. The ski scratchers are the best way to keep the hyfaxes lubed and machine cool. I was thinking of a "L" bracket to put a bolt through for the spring to piviot on and to hold the other end in place. I am interested in your set-up, sounds like a better way. Could you post some pics when you are done? - YaMon

Holz makes a nice set. http://www.holzracingproducts.com/oscom ... cts_id=437
Yep, I ran Holz on my Mod last year and they tore the edge of the track up real nice. Thats why I'm doing ski mounts this time. Just need to fine tune the mounting system to make them work with the new style ski. ===SRXSRULE===

Whatever you do don't get the MPI ones, went through 3 sets last year alone.

I take it SLP doesn't make a set to fit their Powder Pro skis? I know they make a set for the SLT skis which use the same spindle bracket as the PPs' but, the bases are way different. If they did make a set for the PPs', those would be the best bet for a retro fit to the '05 and newer stock mtn skis.

I wish you had posted this about a week earlier lol. I just installed Holz scratches on both; the wife's sled and mine. I ordered them on the 4th though. I also wish I would have known about the Hartman ski scratchers for Simmons skis before yesterday. Both sleds have simmons and these would have worked nicely.

I've got Hartmans on my Simmons skis and a set of MPI on the rails. I run both because the MPIs break alot. ( save your money)
As long as you guys are in the design process, think about this, Lets come up with a screw on carbide tip for the scracher. We would get more were and probably more spray.

Check out the Simmons web site for snow deflecters. I'm using theirs and getting over 2,400 miles per set of hyfax.
