Hi,
I'm going through 2006 apex that I just bought. I knew going into it that it needed a new track/hyfax and some idler wheels. However on closer examination it looks like there may have been some skid damage. I'm new to sleds, so I'm still not clear on the rear suspension. It appears that the limiter strap(s)? have been broken. Does anyone have a good picture as to what the rear skid should look like? Particularly towards the front of it. Again I'm a noob, so any help is appreciated. Isn't there supposed to be a "vertical" shock and "horizontal" shock on rear suspension. I'm not sure of my current setup because previous owner to guy I bougth it from put after market shocks in. Any help is appreciated. I guess I would like to see a pic of how it's supposed to look, so I can compare to what I have. Thanks.

First of all is probably a monoshock suspension so it only has one shock. Check out this thread, is got all your answers. www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=42869 ... =monoshock

sorry, link goes to FAQ.
Is there somewhere in particular I should look? I don't see any pictures there. I thought it might be monoshock, but it looks like there are bolt holes to mount the front shock. Would mono shock still have the mounting hardware for the front (vertical) shock? Thanks.

Also if you google Yamaha Apex monoshock you may find some detailed pictures and explanations of the suspension. Finally, find yourself and save a link to an OEM parts microfiche. Using that you can see all of the parts and order those that are needed. Once you add a part to your cart you can get the part number to start tracking it down starting with whether or not any TY members have any for a good deal. Then moving on the eBay or new from a dealer.

Doesn't look like the pics. There is no spring around rear shock. It does have a remote rez wire clamped to it, I'm gonna have to take some pics and post them up here I guess. It almost looks like the oem microfiche but without front shock?

Sounds like you picked up a nice upgraded air shock.

When you post the pics include some of the entire sled.
Sounds like a rtx ck skidframe.

Agreed but missing the front shock?4x4 said:Sounds like a rtx ck skidframe.
Here is a photo of the CK
http://image.fourwheeler.com/f/9369422/ ... _track.jpg
In 2006 it was on the Nytro only - which was more of a vector with the CK. The Apex RTX in 06 had the Mono rear skid. In 2007+ the RTX got the CK.
Money, which skid resembles yours more?

Okay, here are some pics. After looking at it again, I'm pretty sure I'm missing the front shock to rear suspension. Also, I found what was holding track up. As you can see in one of the pics, the track is caught around a piece of metal and bolt in the right front of the tunnel. I'm gonna pull the skid and investigate. I appreciate all the feedback guys.
Thanks.
Thanks.

let me try that again. Do you need a certain amount of posts to upload pics?
