mfg date on tunnel is 7/05
I think aftermarket shocks on front. There are stickers from race shop that sells those particular shocks on plastics. Also a arms and seat were painted.

I think clutch is good. It is similar to my ATV's. It's probably the one part that I am familiar with. LOL. It would seemed to open/close pretty smooth with engine revving.

Its definately the ck that come with the 07 and up RTX. The Z-bros front exit shocks are the X0 models with out the ressi. The X1 shock has the ressi. The black exhaust covers and white a-arm where most likely painted as underneath I'll bet they are yellow. I am really curious as to what is jammed up near the drive??? Is it the snow flap with the alum bracket attached. The are known to break off. Judging by your pics you should buy 4 excell wheels for the front of the skid. A center shock and most likely a complete revalve and rebuild of the rear. Two limiter straps and you may also have bent rails. Does the track need replaced because of a rail stab? My best guess is the straps broke, the rails stabbed the track and broke the shock. I'd need to see the track damage to confirm this. If this were my sled it would be stripped and completely over hauled, as the latest history report is full of damage and neglect.
This should not be taken as all doom and gloom either. Now you and your sled get really close as you learn to repair each other, spend long nights together, swap blood, sweat and oil. It will become a sick disease. We're all here to if ya need help.
Good luck and cheers, Scott

Thanks... I kind of bought this going in, knowing that we would become deeply acquainted. I guess I need to pull skid and track and take a look @ what is going on up in tunnel. It looks like track was damaged from that bolt and piece of metal as it is almost melted all the way around the edges.
Any way, any suggestions on center shock?

check out Zbros and try their center shock. I can garentee you it will heads above the stock chit shock that was in there. I also believe they have a dual rate spring for it also. They are not a site sponsor but since you have the exit fronts you may as well match up the rest. They can help you better tune your ride that way. That's just what I'd do. I hope this helps you out

Based on this I would guess it is a 2006 Apex ER that someone wanted a CK in for presumed better bump handling with lots of other swapped parts.
Wonder if photo 3 is a Tricked Toys Flap Saver ripped into the tunnel from the track stab?

Moneyshot Lincoln,
If you can figure out what year skid you have, you can look at the factory fiche and see what parts you need.
For example here is a link to an 07 RTX
http://www.portyamaha.com/fiche_section ... fveh=51763
It looks like it matches your pictures
Once you figure out what skid and year you have. I'd start to question if it was installed correctly. Does the RTX use the same mounting holes as a monoshock skid? If not, maybe that is why the front shock is missing /broken.. What is your full apex model number on the tunnel? Was there a model with the RTX/ck skid in 06?
edit: answer some of my own questions; Seems like there are some 06 RTXs around so maybe it is a stock suspension.. Not sure why no 06 RTX fiche.. If you have a stock suspension you won't have to worry about incorrect mounting points..
I don't know anything about an RTX or CK skid.. just giving you some ideas...

One more thing, before you go and dump a wad of coin on parts, take the skid out like you said, have a good look at the skid, take a parts list and price them out first. You may find a complete skid here in the classifieds for less than rebuilding that one... just a thought... oh ya..... have fun with it...don't let all this stuff get ya down... There was a guy on here that just finished building his from a couple totalled sleds, I don't think there were too many bolts that weren't touched on that one... When you're done with it, you'll know what ya got...

I just checked and ...tmamayek1... is selling a 07 skid right now in the classifieds... I bought some parts from him 2 or 3 weeks ago, no problems....

Scott,
You nailed it on the head. It is the snow flap with aluminum bracket attached. I built a support tonight, and was able to jack up back of sled. With the back jacked up I was able to get my head in there and take a good look. Sure enough, it's the snow flap. The clown that sold it to me said the drive shaft bearing was rusted, and that is why track wont spin. I'm gonna pull skid this weekend and acess the damage. Thanks for all the info and encouragement guys.
