sorry to beat a dead horse here folks but I need to get a better understanding of where we need to measure the wear on the sliders. I was just out looking at mine and noticed the right side (looking forward) slideris worn way worse than the left . I might have 3/16 " from the bottom of the slider to the little ridge on the right and on the left slider I have between 1/4 and 5/32" . When you guys say not to worry about it till it gets to the 10mm mark, are you talking about the full thickness of the slide or the thickness to the top of the ridge?
I hope this makes sense .I only have 260 km on my machine and hope to not have to change sliders already. I took a couple pics ,
the first is the right side slider and the second is the left

Full thickness of slide.Sledder Steve made a post somewhere with pic.I cant imagine why it would wear more on one side unless wore side is out in road more when running them.Maybe if your track is way out of alignment?

Take a 10mm wrench and try to slide it over the Hifax, If it fits then they need to be replaced. Some people have added a wheel kit to try and reduce the wear in the front at the bend in the rail.

thanks , i thought the 10 mm measurement referred to the distance from the bottom of the slide to the top of the little ridge . Thats why I thought I had better ask quick. ;)!

wow!! I rode 75km today and my slides went from about 14mm down to 11/12mm in a hurry I really did not want to loosen the track for fear of affecting my warranty but I am going to have to do something .

PS. can you reverse the slides or do they only go on ,one way? Mine only seem to be worn in on place near the front just behind the curve of the rail

You could reverse them just drill new hole for screw in slide.I wouldnt worry about it though.Right at the line is where you will get most miles out of them.Low snow wheels sure help that area your talking of though.

I believe its the wheel size. The wheels arent doing anything till the slides wear to around 12mm.AC runs a bigger wheel or puts them on lower.
