I just bought this rage for my wife/spare sled. I have a apex with a mono skid. I'm trying to get the slides off, skid looks like my sxr skid but longer. Anyone got any ideas, or should I just pull the skid to get them off?

Personally I would pull the skid. This will give ya a chance to look over your idler wheel bearings and look for cracks in the rails and arms. It's also alot easier greasing all of the fittings..

x2, Once you have your skid out use a wooden block and hammer at the front of the rails at slide them off, if they don't move pour a bit of OIL along the rails and top of slides and let it work it self in it usually help them slide off, when you re-install them put a bit of GREASE on rails and slide new ones back on and make sure to use LOCTIE on the 2 front slide screws.

and if that doesnt work, just insert a flat screwdriver with a hammer at the rear of the slide between the rail and slide,it will pop over the rail and just pull towards the front

If this was the first time I was doing it on a used sled, I'd pull the skid.

Otherwise, spray down the slides HEAVILY with WD40 or similar and let it soak for an hour or so. It also helps to warm up the slides a but with a small hand torch or similar.

I use WD40 in the rails and hyfax also. I spray the whole skid down with it after cleaning. I buy it by the gallon and use a spray bottle. Slides are never stuck that way.
