Time for new slides,. Dupont worth the money?

Not sure why there are negative comments about this product, but probably the BEST money i ever spent on a snowmobile upgrade.
My old Apex has over 15,000 miles on them and the stock ones were good for about 3000 miles SAME set up.

NOW I WILL SAY THIS!
I put extra wheels up front & that's actually where they wear because there are NO inserts at the front radius.
If i didn't have those front wheels, that area would wear just as quick as stock so they'd be toast just as quick.

It's a good watch

Dupont slides, ran them on my nytro.
Pro's
Lasts longer
Less friction - rolls easier.

Cons
Track clips wear out faster
Once the inserts wear out, the benefit is gone
Inserts do pop out before they wear out.
Really expensive
Inserts dont go all the way to the back.

After a couple sets of Dupont's I now just run the regular hyfax.

Bought a new 2011 apex and with out riding it I installed the DuPont sliders and the pioneer wheel lowering kit. I got 20,000 miles out of the sliders and 21,000 out of the track and the clips on the track looked like new ( big rip and failure on long lake in Me.) Best upgrade I have ever done on a sled. I also used semi sno trackers and got 21,000 mile out of them, also a great upgrade.

i put excel wheels with duponts...you will never have a problem again

If you’re doing any road running in between trails at all, they are ABSOLUTELY worth it. I’ve had mine on for about 5000 miles on in northern Wisconsin so far - and they have plenty of room to go!

My Apex is a 2010 so it has the mono II rear skid and the stock slides last pretty well. I can get 1500 miles out of a set easily. I can get stock OEM slides shipped for $45. Or a set of DuPont slides for $140. I can buy 3 sets of OEM slides for the price of one set of DuPont slides. Is it worth it to buy the DuPont slides?
My Apex has 5400 miles and my winder has 6300 on dupont slides. Still look good. Worth it in my opinion.
