SLP Anti-Wear pads

I'm thinking of ordering these for the new Apex's and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these? Seems like an alternative to Polaris wheels for hyfax wear.

I've had them on my 04 Warrior for a couple of years and they work good!

SLP Wear Pads

I have the SLP wear pads on my Apex. Seems to help, just need to keep an eye on them as they wear down. Once they get thin, you'll want to remove/replace them.

I haven't had any problems with mine.

My dealer swapped out all 6 of my idler wheels for Polaris wheels so we'll see how the combination works this season.

Many are opting to cut out the 3rd window to allow more snow in to the track-many different opinions on all of these mods.

I have them... they definitly cut down slide wear.. I wouldnt say they make the sled faster..

I do keep a close eye on them because they will wear thin

XCSP, how did you get them to penetrate the high profile of the ripshaw lug? Appears 64 are required. Less expensive than track clips, especially when buying a tool to crimp in place. I run low snow rear idlers, but the main Hyfax wear on mine is in between those idlers and the rearward OEM bogy. Ok forgot to mention I cut out my closed windows. If left closed no problem.

I used them on my 800 Polaris and as said above watch for wear. When they wear thin the metal will curl up and slice the Hyfax.

I believe it is only 32 wear pads on a 121" track. The wear pads are installed in the "closed" window of the track.

They are great at reducing drag on the track clips last 5 sleds that where third window closed I used them also sell lots of kits no returns yet

Sound great. Thanks for the replys. I think I'll start with the wear pads, then possibly move on to Polaris wheels as the season rolls on. When replacing to Polaris wheels, are you guys replacing all 6 or just the front 4? You guys say they pads wear thin after a while, about how many miles can I expect out of a set. I know that largely depends on conditions (snirt) which lately has been the case around here! Thanks a lot. Jay.

Yes 32 pads would be correct. I was thinking of adding to each non wear plated lug after the closed windows are cut out. This woud require 64, but it can't be done. Pads have to attach to the closed windows. Only solution now is to add track clips or run as is.

Not that these guys are wrong, becase they are not. It is a matter of personal taste.

But I took off my Polaris wheels and put on the Skidoo 503190802 wheel.
In size they are right in between the Pol and stock Yammie wheel.

Big fan of the SLP wear pads, less friction and hyfax wear

Doo wheels

Tork, are the Ski Doo idler wheels you list a direct replacement bolt-on?

I recall reading where the use of some Doo wheels was more than just bolt on and go.

I just got 6 Polaris wheels and tried putting them on, but noticed that the bushings on the skid are much wider than the I.D. of the bearing hole. Either I got the wrong wheels or some machining is in order? Thanks. Jay

If you have the right Pol wheek the diameter should fit fine, however the Pol and Doo wheel use a wider bearing. Thats Ok because the bearing will likely last longer.

2 options with the wider bearing, longer bolts or machine the holders.

Aparently, I bought the wrong wheel, because the I.D. of the bearing is a lot smaller than the holder is much wider. I'll try and find a different part number. I did notice that the Polaris wheel felt a lot more substancial than the Yammi wheel when I had one of the wheels off.
