This is my first year with a 4 stroke. Bought an Apex GT and one thing I've noticed is it seems to really build up a massive amount of snow/ice on the suspension and tunnel area. Seems to be much more than any 2 stroke I've owned. Has anyone else noticed a similar issue, and if so, is there any way to make it better? Silicon spray? Or?

I had the same problem, there are some spray's on the market but when I put in the rear heat exchanger it seems to be alot better.

Installing the rear heat exchanger will almost completely eliminate the ice build-up.

Good to hear on the heat exchangers.....
....the problem your seeing with the build up is from the exhaust running above it. Just enough heat to keep it warm and moist under there to collect the snow. Not enough heat to melt it.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like the rear heat exchanger is the cure. How big of a job is it to add the exchanger? Any tricks to bleeding air out of the system afterwards?

The rear heat exchanger eliminates a lot and if you don't run her hard it seems to buid up a lot more and on COLD days its worst, I noticed when we ride hard /high speeds the snow & ice really melts due to all the heat generated, another trick is when you park over night or for a long period of time the snow/ice will melt and fall on top of track so always park so you can BACK-UP prior to leaving to flush out all the ice CHUNCKS

Below is a link to a post on the installation of the rear heat exchanger. Scroll down to ROCKERDAN's post.

I like to back up anyways for a few feet.
Better than throwing that rock hard ice into your front heat exhanger where something has to give.
