My son has a very healthy FX Nytro runs 105 GPS. I will let all of you know with video how they run side by side over and over again..... If not, BOOST-TIME!!!!

There is no way on God's green earth there should be an indicated speed of 82 mph, unless there was a major problem, that any moron could diagnose. Of course we are talking about the snowmobile "media"......lol. I agree with Nytro 40th, can't wait until they build the damn things so we can deal with reality, rather than all the internet fantasy and other assorted b.s!

I will know too, sold my Nytro to my brother in law so we will be able to run them. That being said I expect to lose because my Nytro with 5000 miles on it is a totally different animal then when it was new, seems to get faster every year!! Takes a while to get them loosened up

X3 Dont forget almost all stock Speedos are dreammeters. So all the speculation about the Viper being slower than the Nytro could just be because it feels slower due to the Viper being easier and more comfortable to ride fast. Just seems slower. Have yet to hear of anyone actually lining them up side to side and like said NOBODY has done it on a Production sled. We will see.

Total BS...come to the table in about3 months when someone has some actual seat time on a production unit and my guess its a very different story.

Just got the new Snow Goer in the mail this weekend and read the comparison. What a bunch of crap. 18MPH slower with the same motor and a better suspension? Do you think Yamaha would allow that? If so, big step backwards not able to dial it in and a "black-eye" on the engineers. Overall a way better sled but I would not be willing to fork out 12K with an 18 MPH loss over my Nytro. I am confident Yamaha will get it right!

I wouldn't get worked up on snow goer mag. Depending on what Yamaha your used to, you can lose almost 18 mph just by having an accurate speedo. Or zip down a snow covered trail and anyone's lucky to get over 80 true mph especially with all the different track options. So many variables at stake. If anything, Cat has the mapping for the Yamie power plant and everyone knows Cat will not be so nice to the engine as yamie would, given yamies high safety margin.
The Vipers will be a great machine and might just take a couple tweaks if need be.

Yamaha and cat have diff mappings, the yamaha version Atleast at the test rides in spring was much better. Guys would get off the cat an not want to ride the viper, then ride the viper and be really excited. I think cat may be pushing their "pure" cat sleds over the hybrid one with yamaha.

This is the part I'm curios to see. I spent some time on the cat version (7000), but didn't get to ride the Viper. Not sure on the actual mapping, but the different clutching is going to be a true test of which one gets the power to the ground more.

That article was based off the pre production sleds that they drove last spring. I'm not worried as yamaha won't have there new pride and joy be that much slower then the nytro. They will have our vipers figured out by the time we get ours!

Diff mapping, diff exhaust (headers are diff I believe but same pipe might be other way but dont believe so) diff clutching, dif chain case and gears and chain diff belt. Should be a nice combo of parts

That would be nice since we could just use what parts and tune works best BUT I dont believe anything is different other than the clutches and maybe the tune.
