I'm in the process of putting reverse back into my 2015 Viper R-TX... it was removed when new as a it was a factory sponsored race unit.
I have the jackshaft out and decided to order in the updated 2016 shaft rather than the old style threaded unit. Anyway, I went to slip my secondary clutch onto the original 2015 shaft (not sure why) and it didn't fit!
I thought it was the wrong unit for a moment as I do have some old Yamaha secondary units in the shop... But no... I double checked the non-reverse jackshaft and its actually splined for an Apex secondary! Weird right?!
Now a have a bit of a delema... put reverse in or out back together and use the team secondary I have sitting here. Always wanted to try one on a Viper.
Decisions.... decisions.

Try the team secondary! You can always swap again later. I’d love to run a team secondary, I had one on my MXZ 800 and I loved it.

Is there anything special about the original secondary other than the smaller Apex splines? I am just guessing but with all the Cat shaft failures in 12 and 13 I bet that's a aftermarket shaft. I have one just like it made for Cat Turbo with Apex /srx small spline secondary on it.I'm in the process of putting reverse back into my 2015 Viper R-TX... it was removed when new as a it was a factory sponsored race unit.

Not that I can see, it has stock spring and Helix... just seems to be an Apex (small spline) Secondary.

Frank Belanger sold those shafts for the Turbo guys who were trying everything to make belts survive. I believe he comes on here sometimes. Made a lot of awesome stuff for the Turbo Cats.
