I am buying a 2015 Viper LTX SE w/ MPI turbo and only 46 miles. It was originally used for track dyno testing some clutching parts and maybe a couple of grass drags. The seller installed a different (HD?) jackshaft & hyvo chain/gears and it doesn't currently have reverse (shorter jackshaft). The actuator is there but is unplugged. He has located the stock jackshaft but can't find any of the chains/gears or other parts that were removed from the chaincase. I didn't have reverse with my old 01 SRX700 but I have become real accustomed to it with my 06 Apex GT. I do not need it for getting in/out of a trailer but it seems like I would miss it if I didn't have reverse. Would you leave it as-is or purchase the parts to get the reverse working again?

i dont think i will ever not have reverse again. i would put it back in

Tough call, I would think its more of a personal preference thing. I would be able to manage without reverse but, its nice having it.


Good opportunity to update to Sidewinder jackshaft setup.

What is different about it? Drop in upgrade?


Wider chain and gears and no wobblebearing,Shaft stronger. Inner case is different. But yes bolt in.What is different about it? Drop in upgrade?


I believe with spacer inner case could be reused. Vipers got everything except gear and chain also for 17. 16 stuff is other option but still uses wobblebearing
