So I heard "It's a done deal " Yamaha owns AC sleds

Back when I first owned my 2015 Viper I talked to other owners of Vipers and many times they had no idea the Chassis was made by Arctic Cat. Perhaps things have changed.

Yamaha is known as a Motor company, many will assume it has a Yamaha engine, along with Yamaha’s legendary reliability. Why do you think it’s rebranded and sold for more money as a Yamaha?

I think that was true when the Vipers first came out but I think the majority of people now know the are Cats of a different color.

I would not have bought Venom if it were just the Blast. Looks cooler,Yamaha backing and most of all Totally Yamaha backed! There is a difference.

I love the Yamaha 1049cc engine in my El Tigre 7000 but never liked the baby blue of the Viper. The black and green does catch my eye....obviously. So much that I bought a El Tigre 6000 this past spring with much the same colouring for my wife.
I am sad to see the 1049cc engine dropped by AC

Or they don’t like green!
yeah, that green color really looks bad...you would think they'd come up with so other colors...their trade mark I guess...

It's a bit unfair to say Yamaha is out of the business...they build the best 4 stroke engines out there and they go into another company called Arctic Cat, so Ok they work together to produce a great machine and that keeps 2 more companies producing sleds...that's still good for the sport and who knows, maybe down the line both companies will start making their own stuff themselves, that would be good for innovation..myself, I really like my Sidewinder and not following the herd with the yellow sled.

Yeah I don’t see anything changing in the near future with the Textron/Yamaha working agreement. I don’t think Yamaha will in the foreseeable future produce a pure Yamaha sled just no ROI to build a clean sheet new chassis. Yamaha could build an injected 2s engine but AC has their own so no interest to buy one from Yamaha. The Yamaha 2s mountain sleds are blue ACs no doubt about it. It will be interesting to see how many sleds Yamaha sells for Textron. If the numbers are impressive it will help cement the current working agreement. Yamaha could enhance the agreement if they produced a turbo 2s to keep up with the mountain competition for both AC and Yamaha. If Textron builds their own 2s turbo they will have little use for Yamaha in the long term. Time will tell.

Suzuki is no slouch when it come to engines, my 1100 turbo with well over 10,000 miles on it boosted the whole time had proven itself.

Suzuki? I must be missing something, I didn't know Suzuki put engines into sleds...then again I was surprised to see a Tahatsu outboard engine today when returning from a tuna fishing trip. Competition creates innovation and sometimes lower prices...all good!!Joe

Didn't hear Yamaha owns Arctic cat sleds , but I did hear that they extended there agreement another 5-6 years . So yes a new chassis for sidewinders must be in the works to fill out the joint agreement.
