Thanks for the reply.I will call the dealer and try to get the side panels.
Other than this I have no problems with the phazer.

Here is a couple pics of mine after 275 mi ride.Notice on outside there is a bit but its not where you stand.Underneath closed front is perfectly clean and rear which I left open has some big ice.Although I find this acceptable I may close back also.

Hey fellow phazer folks,
I find this post quite enlightening. Our dealer put the side panels on the sled for me before i purchased it. They look great. They don't completely fix the problem though.
I think Yamaha needs to rethink the issue even more.
ANd those pics from Cannonball are awesome. The inside tunnel pic must carry some weight. And what about bottoming out the suspension?
Glad to have found this site.

Ice build is very minimal now in the tunnel and zero on the running boards !

That is awesome! Now we just have to get someone to make a rear bar that closes the sides in back.

snow comes through those holes and piles up on the running boards, close them off and you will know the difference

I have no snow on my running boards (period), so will not see the difference !

do you ride on groomed trails? i ride in deep snow and it was coming onto my running boards even with the tunnel blocked off, closed the open holes on the bumper and it helped out alot, but if your not having an issue with that no worries then

Yes that hole. Its not a big deal.Would be nice though especially if you ever ride double.

i like the way Aaron Excell has that sheet metal designed to close the tunnel, i got to get one, the tunnel being open is very dangerous for younger rider's, the build up of ice on the running boards is way to much, my wife's feet keep slipping out, way to go Aaron, nice work

My tunnel is now closed - dealer installed. Rear (large) hole only. I had yamaha install the side panels last season, and that did keep the boards from icing but the amount of ice in the tunnel was unbearable.
I kept the side panels in the front but had the rear ones removed. Figure it may help keep the exhaust cooler that way.
