I have an 06 rage and have issues starting it. Starts instantly all winter but issue is after it sits all summer, it just turns over forever and wont pop. Any suggestions at to do besides pulling carbs etc... Just want to get it started to put it on the trailer to take it to the dealer for service

The carbed 3 holer is like that!
I have an 08 Vector that's a bitch to start after summer storage. I've heard that it can be easier to start by pressuring the fuel system, ie, removing the tank vent and adding air, I haven't had any luck with it. Good luck with it!

Yup, worked for me on my Vector. Follow the end of the vent/overflow line down the left side of the tank to where it clips onto the chassis frame near your left foot. Pop the line off and blow into it to pressurize the tank. Keep the air pressure up by pinching the end of the vent line. Then try firing up the sled.

This trick always works for me. Read about it in the RX section back in 05 and have used it ever since on my carbureted 4 stroke.

x4 on the pressurization. ive seen multiple videos on the new Vipers not even starting properly unless the guy is blowing pressure into the gas tank. makes sense. Im pretty sure he even went as far as putting a little primer pumping line on his steering column, fired up Every time with it

Many times I just remove air box lid and choke carbs with a hand to get them to fire after summer storage.

Just pop the air filter cover off and either use quick start or gasoline in a squirt bottle to spray in the carb inlets. Will get the engine going. May need to do a few times before the fuel pump primes the carbs.

Quick start is not a good thing, espeically using it in this application where simply pressurizing the tank will do the trick. jmo

Yes pressurize the tank. I just remove gas cap, put duck tape over top of tank. Cut a small hole a stick clear tube in and blow into it while cranking engine

Easiest way is to blow into the line on the left side of the tank.
Crank as you blow on the tube and it starts right up.
I had an 06 Rage for 6 seasons. Its just the way they are, and you only need to do it once a year

My '07 Vector only started doing this in the last year or so. I have been choking the carbs as hibshman25 suggests. I came here today to look for a better solution and I like the idea of pressurizing the tank. Will have to try that this weekend.

I'm one of those prestone starting fluid guys! I've been doing it every year since new! 9500 miles still runs like new. It takes very small shot in each carb while cranking. Don't by any means hold the sprayer down just a quick blip in each carb.

What I do with my 07 vector is much easier. Open the hood and in front of the left foot well connected to the top of the frame tubing is a clear hose. It's the breather hose for the gas tank. I take a pliers to squeeze the hose clamp and pop that line off, then stick my compressor sprayer into it and shoot some air in. I quickly put my finger over the end of the tube to hold the pressure and hit the starter and away she goes. Then pop the hose back on and you're done. I've heard from others on this board that you can blow into the hose with your mouth if you want to.
