Stator cover gasket?

Had to replace the stator on my 06 Attak, put a new oem gasket on and it tore when i put the cover on resulting in a oil leak. Got a new gasket and sprayed it with copper gasket spray, put it together and tore again, leaking oil again. Is there a better gasket or something to use so it won't leak oil? Any tips at putting that cover on so it don't tear? Magnetic force is what is getting me.

I usually use the same one with some Yama-Bond.. never leak for me but you have to be really, really careful putting them back together.

I very carefully put a thin film of permatex Ultra Black hi temp silicone on the motor half then carefully placed gasket (new) in place ... then put another thin film on the stator cover and installed bolts by hand then tighten .... no issues.
