I posted this on HCS, lot's of looks, no answers. I have received a lot of good info here so here goes:
Guys I'm doing a sanity check. I popped a belt last season on the last ride on my 7000, it has 3800 miles on it but I still wanted to check out the alignment. I bought a 1.485" bar and went to work. I checked the fit with the bar and there was a pretty good sized gap between the bar and the primary fixed sheave. When I pulled the secondary I found .150" worth of spacers. I ended up removing 2 of the three spacers that were in there, and ended up using one .060 spacer. I pulled out .090 worth of spacers! Center to center looks to be right at 10.3" The alignment bar looks very close to being spot on now.
Have any of you 7000 guys seen this or have any experience to share, or am I really missing something here? Could it have been that far off this whole time since new?

That's the strange part. The belt had just over 3800 miles on it and didn't create any more belt dust than I would consider normal. This was the original belt on the sled as far as I know (I'm the second owner). I'm hoping that by taking out the spacers that I didn't just create a problem for myself, but according to everything I can find, I have the correct offset bar and the three measurement points (A,B,C) NOW look correct.
Wow thats excellent belt mileage. I would just take note of what you took out and run it. Just watch the belt.

ive never really measured my clutches but my last oem belt went about 4000 miles before i replaced it...never had a belt failure, had the first one last only 1500 miles and strings were coming out but it must have been a fluke or the weekend of playing in lake slush lol.
