The rod will need to be longer for the toe to be pointing in.

END RESULT IS YOU WANT SLIGHT TOE OUT IN THE FRONT 1/2 front to back difference, you should measure 36 1/4 inches in the front inside of ski to ski then you should read 35 3/4 inches at the back of the skis, measurement again inside of ski to inside of ski. You can buy all the aftermarket skis and carbides you want but if your alignment is off well that helps nothing in the game of proper steering.

Subtract the bigger from smaller measurement to find your tow in/out.
I always measure at the carbide studs but last time I just bungeed a straightedge to each spindle side.Worked well.Try to move each tierod equal amount or your handlebars will end up crooked and also need to be adjusted.

I've never heard of any ski working better with a toe in.
A good reference point is to put a straight edge on the inside edge of your ski to see if the ski itself are straight so the measurement can be transferred front to back

yamahas, let me know what you find out when you adjust yours. I'm curious on what you think of the steering after you do it. I never had a chance to mine today. I had a family gathering to attend and didn't even get to ride! I'm going to look at it again tomorrow morning.
I have to admit that is gets a little confusing on here when several people have several different opinions on how things should be setup. I'm not really sure what to go by.
I wonder if the guy who said to "always toe out" has Slydog skis?
I know cannondale says to toe in and from what I read has a good reputation for giving the correct info on here, so, I would have a tendancy to go by what he says.....still it is a little irritating to get conflicting info.
Can anyone else confirm that toe in on SLYDOG skis is the way to go?

I never recommended toe in for Slydogs.Never tried them.I had stock and now run Pilots and both work with 0-1"toe out.I am at 1/8in toe out on my Pilots right now but on stock skiis with shapers I liked alot of toeout.1in.Once you start adjusting you will find what you like since it is easy to experiment with and then conditions change and you start over.It never ends but can be rewarding.

Ya I've read this before and he talks about PILOTS being perfectly straight nothing on dogs. notice in there one guy says all sleds 1/8 inch out.
