I'm on the learning curve on meth injection. . The question is, if you take a turbo kit, that is supposed to run on something like 12 psi on lowered compression (extra gasket). Could you, instead of lowering compression, run meth injection and still be safe?

Thanks, Bull

Yes, in theory you can do just that, exactly what I've been thinking. Either up the boost on meth and run the current CRs or remove one headgasket and go with 10:1 CRs keeping my current boostlevel and add meth to keep detonation in check. LOL but I'm on the learning curve too :-) so don't thrust me on what I'm saying hahaha gotta read up more on the meth-injection

I would like to have a fail safe system that can bypass my boost controller when running out of meth.

Well, I can see the problem running out of meth, but some years ago, we all rode two strokes, and had the same problem when we ran out of oil, remember? Oil might be easier to find on the mountain than meth though...

And, you could turn down the boost and be safe again? I know mcx 310 kits has a switch to run two different boost levels...this could be done riding with and without meth, right? Just to get you off the moutain...

The MCX310 switch uses a bleed switch to raise the boost from 260 HP to 310 HP, worst way to raise boostlevel IMO. But we can always make a manual boostcontroller bypass, add a T before and another T behind the boostcontroller, add a hose to the T's and add a switch on the bypass hose. With the switch closed boostcontroller is in charge, with the switch open wastegase is in charge of controlling the boost level. What I want is a electronically contolled valve on the same bypass hose that will stay open when it gets a signal from the meth system telling it's out of meth, this valve has to switch open before completely out of meth.

I can hear you on the 2strokers, yeah not only did we have to watch out not running them out of oil, we also had to watch out not running them out of fuel loosing the cooling effect of gasoline that prevented them from seizing up.

A manual boost controller should do the trick... You would need to check the level of meth from time to time, but I think it should work out just fine, as far as I would know...

The upside of the meth injection sounds great. Are there any downsides, thought I read someplace it was corrosive over time?

Would the meth injention cause corrosion inside the engine over time?

Corrosion in the carbs could be solved be installing the injectors in the carb boots.

Snow performance kits look tempting - they have a kit for monting the injetors to carb boots.

Here is an article I found while I was researching Meth injection. I plan to run a small shot of Nitrous with my Blower at 10lbs and a Meth injection system, so this article was a nice read, I thought.

Just keep on researching, then just try it out. Post your findings as well. I will post mine once winter gets here....

Without reading the article, I don't worry too much about corrosion, detonation is a far worse threat to my engine.
