i think i have asked this awhile back but i cant remember i think the stock exhaust sounds like a large lawn mower  is it just me- i really dont like it-anyone changed the tip like the one on ebay for 20-30 bucks?i was also thinking to maybe go with a slip on muffler-i would prefer quiet as possible, but not a sputtering sound also not after race performance or loud noise.what are y'all runnin?

You don't like the "pop-pop-pop" sound?
Actually I don't either and was thinking about trying the Benz Silent Rider http://www.atvsilencer.com/ but haven't gotten that far down the project list yet. I also find it hard to believe that those two sound files are taken from the same machine.

yeah its hard to believe that is the same bike.i definately dont like the pop-pop sound.if you've ridden with any other atv's and do your own personal sound test it becomes more obvious.i use my quad to hunt so i would definately like to get quieter.

My LRD has a nice rumble to it. Not exactly the hot setup for hunting but when I hunt with the quad I just use it to get close and then I walk.

Well I modified the stock exhaust to have it exit out of the bottom not the back. The reason is it should be harder for water to backup into the exhaust. My thought is it should act like a glass turned up side down, then pushed into the water, it will not fill up unlike laying the glass on its side it will fill up immediately. The modification is completed but I have not been in the deep water yet to know how well it works. Drawings exhaust bottom exit & exhaust bottom flange show the changes. Exhaust bottom flange was wire EDM'ed in two. Then just cap the stock location. The stock spark arrestor will still work. Yes it has a different sound now!
