strapping down the rear suspension

Hey Phil - I first strapped mine down, by taking an old tie down strap, and wrapping around the rear scissor arm to the axle straight down and to the rear of the scissor arm. On Ryans (pro116) I drilled a hole on each side for an axle, just in front of the rubber snubbers, for the rear scissor arm. Also drilled new holes in the front limiter straps. I can send pics if you want. Call me.

OK guys consider me a dummy when it comes to setting up a sled. however this post got my attention I would like my sled to set a little lower but still retain the stiffness in the back shock if I strap it down as you suggest am i only losing a little travel I may want to try this to lower my center of gravity a bit help when cornering at high speed? can you explain for me in dummy terms.

Thanks

I believe these guys are strapping their suspension down just for drag racing - so that all the off-the-line energy goes straight into traction and not flexing the suspension.
