So, I'm thinking about changing my track to a 1.6 Ice Cobra. The last time I repacked the drive axle bearing I had to split my caliper to get at it. The back half of the caliper is seized on the axle at the bearing. Does anyone have a trick to get the bearing to move on the axle? I don't care about the bearing surviving the process, they're cheap. There just isn't a lot of room in there!
I could make a template of the mounting holes and maybe press the axle in a bit to start it... If I pull the bearing retainer out of the chaincase, maybe the axle would start to move?

Mine is always stuck too, I had to use a 3 arm bearing puller to get it of the last 2 times

That's a good idea, I never thought about that. I could get one at an automotive store I'd imagine...

I have made a puller with the 3 bolts patterned on the caliper assembly out of half inch plate steel. Had the centre drilled and a nut welded in the middle that will accept my puller. I pull the caliper assembly off the shaft. Works great.
Failing that, use heat and keep working it. Careful prying against the tunnel, its pretty thin.

I would think maybe an old school harmonic balancer puller might line up with the 3 bolts?

My puller kit from Princess Auto with the 3 slots did not line up, so I had to go have it made. Initially I was optimistic but it wasn't meant to be.

Don't do it the 1.6" lugs bend too much robbing traction , look into the storm 150So, I'm thinking about changing my track to a 1.6 Ice Cobra.
