I have read both not and to studd this track. I have read the big head 1 ply studs help and not.
Mike Knapp- long time racer and respected Yamaha poster then Ski Doo /AC- rec's using the standard studs as the big heads roll over the drivers and rear axel wheels with increased drag.
What have you done? THinking 144 down middle, some say stay with the 1.4 studs others longer.
I was prepared to stud the 1.25 rip saw not sure what to do with the COBRA. May just ride it a year and decide based on feel and performance.

The Cobra has pretty good bite even on icy conditions. I did end up studding the 136" Cobra on my Pro R 800 after an incedent on a hill climb that left me sliding backwards down a steep hill on snow that was drizzled on and then froze. I did put in 144 - 1.5"

Thanks sounds as though you would be comfortable aggressive trail riding with this track?

Yes!!! on my 2012 PRo R800 the 1-1/4" rip saw left me side ways a lot especially under braking on hard packed trails, I had to stud it. The 2013 with the cobra was night and day diff. The only reason I did at the end of season was that one time and It was very steep & sheer ice.

I have the 1.35 Cobra on am XTX skid in my '06 Apex, with no studs, and I ride aggressively with the sled and couldn't be happier with it. It is supposed to give up a little side bite in corners (compared to what I don't know, but that's according to Camoplast), but I don't notice any slipping. Ride it for a season first, unless you're always on crappy, icy trails, I think you'll like it as is.

I will add that the Cobra does use a softer durometer rubber, and the lugs do have a little more "flex" than others, so I do think it probably won't last as long as some of the other models. I do also think that because it's a little softer it helps it bite better in certain conditions.
I was very surprised at how well it works off-trail as well, and for having on a heavy sled like my Apex, it hasn't left me digging yet in the deep stuff...
I'd almost go as far as saying that it might work nearly as good as the Back Country 1.75 I have on an XTX.
If you do decide to stud the Cobra though, just choose your studs and backers wisely to work with a softer track.

Thanks I will try not studding . I have ridden the 144 1.25 ripsaw on my venture for 2000 miles and has been fun and no issues.
So will try with the cobra/Viper.
