I thought you were only going to use double backers? What changed your mind?

I was at the snowmobile show and talking to the Stud boy rep and Woodies rep, thay both said the single studs work better than the double backer....so I went with there recomendation...

Danrello's pattern is good because it keeps the studs closest to the rail, which puts more preasure on the studs which provides a better penetration, hense better traction. If you are going to stud in the middle, stud them closest to the rail.

Daranello,

What pattern is that? Also, where did you buy the top guns too?

RR

Woodies Pattern, got them from my Yamaha Dealer, they match Royal's price...Paid $1.49 CND (1.375") Stud, Air Lite XL Polymer Backers Washer Lighter then aluminum.Made of DUPONT polymers and Lock Nut!!!!......Im very happy with the studs, in the past I have run Studboys and Woodies, IMO Top Gun are better because of the shoulderless design and the polimer backers...BTW ran the platic backers @ -38c and not one broken after 3000km's

BTW: I got the XL backers there bigger and have what I call a turtle neck...this way you dont need to run a heavy tall nut

Do you have any pics of the inside of the track? I would like to see how far the studs pulled in to the rubber of the track.

They are worn though....

Yeah but still have the carbide tip, my first ride was Nov 26th...no base!!! Killed the stock runners in one ride and stone chiped the hell out of my A arm....trust me the studs have done real well for the condition I run them in.....lake is ice right now and they still dig deep into the ice...I take a pix next time I'm out.
