I agree with Yamahnator, 3/8" is way too much above the track lugs. They will bend and rip out very quickly if they are that long.

Yes I agree 3/8 is to much if you do a lot of ice/road riding, where I ride it is a medium packed mostly non road trails. 3/8 works great. as for tunnel protectors, I have them all the time with or without studs just an extra peice of mind

I'm confused do I need to install protectors if I'm studding the new phazer or not?

So I talked with the dealer today firming up delivery in a couple weeks and ask about the tunnel protector issue? He stated that tunnel protectors are not offered in the '07 Phazer accessories catalog and that the clearance between the track and the front cooler is around 2 1/2"...not needed in his opinion. I looked up the underside and could put my hand up thru the area between the track and front cooler.

No, never. I don't see the need. I have studded every sled I have ever owned, and I don't see what a tunnel protector is going to do for me... The studs stick out about 1/8" to 1/4" further than the track lugs, so what the hell bad thing is going to happen in my tunnel? You think the track lugs come within 1/4" of the tunnel with no studs? I don't get what a tunnel protector is protecting me from.

Mostly for me, to protect the heat exchanger. But looks like I'm not going with any protectors.

No help on the studding as of yet anyone, is there a chance 1.075's could hit and damage the front heat exchanger?? I'm lost on what to do.

I just installed 72 down the middle Woody's 1.075 I don't think they'll hit anywhere as far as I can tell. My dealer said I should be Ok. He was installing 96 down the middle of one they had there for a customer. I'll take some pictures tonight and email tomorrow

that would help with some pic's, but the real will be when the riding begin's, hopefully they come out with the protector's soon
