After reading several posts about studding the middle of the track I still have a question. What is the issue with the shock? I have read about staying away from the center so not to damage the shock...what gives. I tried finding the answer with the search option but no success. Sorry if it's been asked and answered already. I'd also like some feed-back on a good pattern (up the middle only). Going to use Gold Diggers, 1.325 w/square backers. 108 enough or should I put some doubles too? I do mostly trails and "aggressive rider". Shock is out at Pioneer getting revalved and heaver spring and track is stock 1.25.

The mono skid 121" in the apex rubs on the top of the shock mount causing the top of the shock to wear down. Adding studs to the mix just increases the wear. It only wears so far and stops. I've tried the anti-rub bearing kit and it exploded in 500km. I just run it with proper track tension and it doesn't seem to be wearing anymore. I switched from 144 1.3750 to 1.450 up the middle and WOW what a difference in hook up. You actually get to feel the power the sled has!! no rubbing issues at all.. Lots of clearance at the front heat exchanger!! Running all double backers with tall nuts.

depends what year your apex is......the 08 and newer have a LOOP to stop this problem....

I added a LOOP to mine when i had the skid BEEFED up...

just keep the studs out of the direct center so the shock eye wont get worn off by stud heads.

I had no luck with the anti rub bearing kit....after one ride mine was toast.

Here is the Bearing kit, mine only lasted one ride since the bearings blew apart from stud heads hitting them
