Supercharger seams to be a lot cheaper these times about half price of turbo rated at the same power. I am wondering if it is worth it to buy a supercharger mpi or other, or should I just wait for a turbo?

For me this is a double edge sward! I really like the super, but I was a victim to oil failure and smoked mine. With mpi having no stock of them to get me back up and going quick, I started asking your same question. For me I ended up staying with the super it just fits my riding style better, and I made upgrades to hopefully cure any future failures and have miles of smiles.
I don't think you can go wrong with either just choose what fits you better. the install is what's important with both setups.
Turbos get better mileage and if your going for all out hp they have the advantage, if there is a problem with them parts are plentiful. That to me was the biggest bonus to a turbo. Boost is addictive once you have a little you just want more, I'm sure many on this site will agree. Have fun with your new boost!

I was going to go supercharger but fuel mileage and with added weight to the front lead me to a rear mount turbo. Will be installing this summer.

No Brainer.....Turbo. The superchargers right now cannot be reliable. Read the posts on the boost side and you will see that the sc are having issues with the shafts and MPI cant seem to get them replaced in a timely manner.

I've followed this one and believe there are 4 people with similar issues on SC failures. I don't know the sales numbers, but I'm not buying into this as a wide spread issue. I bet there are thousands of MPI SCs out there. As with any highly modified sled, the chances of something breaking and losing sled time are much higher than a stocker.
Either way, turbo or SC you'll love the boost. I have a MPI/ Yamaha SC and chose it as I believe it fits my riding style better with the instant boost. It makes the Nytro hard to beat in my opinion.
