TD MAX SPOOL 16

for sure... and if this is the case, why is TD selling the tune without the 3 bar. The sensor is cheap.

Perhaps they have had good success without the 3BAR and some people are un-willing to spend the extra $$ on it? I'm not sure, for me it was a no brainer to get the 3BAR.

True.
I just think there is a good benefit to the customer to have the information up front to make the decision.... if there is a lil bit of power or protection gained from the 3 bar i think many would save for it..

On that note, i have read there has been some issues with some of the 3 bar sensors lately and seeing everything is running good Ill consider it in late summer

The 3 bar tune upgrade is required for the 3 bar sensor and is no charge since you already have the SM tune. It is a different map that enables more boost and power. I have data logging and have recorded over 19 psi of boost. Ben has stated that the combo of cai, bov and 3 bar is the best tune for the stock muffler. You should absolutely add the 3 bar.

Huh! Was not true for me.
Had 3 charges from dealer for my upgrade. From last season Max Spool 16 / 2 bar, to this seasons Max Spool 16 / 3 bar tune. TD upgrade charge and dealer charges for labor and new 3 bar. Maybe free if you have the flasher and can do it yourself ? Love that tune even more now that I can see more accurate boost numbers of up to 17.4.

Yam dealer or TD dealer. If you have a dealer flashing your sled thats pretty cool.

I do have the flasher. All I had to do was call TD and ask for the 3 bar SM FLASH and they uploaded it to the web. I also have the jukebox which is a factor.

If you have the tune bundle and flasher you have access to any tune free of charge. One of the reasons I chose TD over the others. If you have a single map there might be a charge to update. Not sure though. I started with just the bundle and flasher with SM tunes. This year CAI, 3 bar and 3" exhaust. Next year probably fuel pump and regulator. The power is intoxicating.

Yes, I have the single tune, Max Spool 16 / 3 bar /BOV, and never have I felt the need for less!!
Power is intoxicating and this tune does the trick for me and my riding style.

I turn mine down to ECO if someone else needs to ride my sled. I'm the group mechanic so I'm always adjusting suspensions and diagnosing weird noises and such so I'm trading sleds a lot. I also have a stock muffler setup for places that are anal about it and my 3" Viney Fab for the places that aren't. So, while I never change it for myself in the middle of a ride, I do change tunes once in a while. But I agree, for me, it's the most power I can for the given setup and that's it. My right thumb turns it down for me when needed.

Does it make more boost with CAI and/or pickup any rpm?
Cant say yet. As far as boost goes, i am limited with the 2bar set up right now so ill never be able to answer that question.
Conditions yesterday not ideal to confirm anything other than I personally feel a difference in throttle response.

Hi Ben,i sure hope this max 16 with cai and SMM runs better than the tune I had last year,so if I run bl/blk Dalton primary with DTYA-1 ramps empty and Dalton or/blk old style spring at 70 wrap on stock 35 helis, should I be looking for 8900 and you think it will be good w/ that combo?
What tune did you have last year and what didn't you like a out it

Cluster flash comes with ability to change tunes with top left button on cluster, it allows boost PSI gauge to be moved around to left, right or hour areas of cluster. It also allows a customer to run a jukebox multi-tune withOUT owning a flasher. Might do other things too that Im not aware of.

Dan
Dan can the cluster flash be updated somehow or will it have to be sent out for updates

Fast, if you have a flasher you can update the cluster otherwise it must be sent out.
