A rubber or poly 'O' ring to shim the clutch buttons vs. a steel shim.
This is so simple yet brilliant. My dealer just called me and told me to bring my primary in.
The o ring will in effect act like a spring AND a chushon, besides being a shim, taking the clanking out.
This is great news. Told me it was free too.

Free to you, or covored by Yamaha? Will there be an anouncement, or do you have to contact your dealer to get this done?

I think you need to call your dealer and complain. I,m not sure if my dealer is being a great guy here, but I would think it should be free to everybody. After all, these are "just released" parts to cure a specific problem.
What is amazing is that with the RS models, the clutch and TORS are non or minor issues. In the 'Big Picture', these sleds have been amazingly good for a new model.

Sorry kviper, I should have been more precise. It is a clutch kit that they sent to my dealer. I think it included the spring, spiders, bushings all parts needed inside except the casing. So it will look the same outside except for the inside of the clutch. My dealer said it would be better at the long run than shims. We will see. Like I said I will test it in a couple of weeks and keep you info on that. I will also ask my dealer to get me more details on that clutch kit and see if Yamaha are going to install this new kit on all 2005 models or it will be at the option of the dealer to replace it.

Yes I did read Vectory's post when he posted it. Keeping that in mind I posted mine anyway. He says "I think" and "I'm not sure". My logic tells me that Yamaha would not have re-engineered his long list of parts if less than $5 of parts fixes it.
My dealer also said in his words "it is what they are using on the 06 clutches." Could my dealer be wrong? He usually wont say anything unless he is absolutely sure. Could it be that they have 2 fixes?? With one being a very long list of expensive parts? Possibly, but guess which one we will get for free.
milljk,
not to be rude in any way, and I always help when I can, you know that. But my dealer called and said he was absolutely swamped but took the time to tell me the news. I am not going to bug him today or this weekend asking him to dig up the part number.
Just trust me that it is available right now. Call your dealer, if he does not know about the fix, have THEM call and chase it down

There are no published technical bulletins or updates from Yamaha yet, which means there are no part numbers. I will keep you posted on this issue as I get the information.

Thank you drifter.
My dealer goes back to the early 80's plus he goes to the Pleasant Prarie WI Yamaha Midwest Regional Headquarters personally every Wedensday. He could be one of the first dealers to jump on this for his customers. He did say once again that he does have the parts in stock. I am going to pull my primary on Sunday and have it to him by mid week. He will probably fix it on the spot so I dont have to make 2 trips. When I am there, I will get the part # and actually look at them and post further.

You know those black exhaust shrouds that say Yamaha on them.
I just got them back from the chrome shop. They look real purdy.

OK,
Posted picture in Lounge. Might have some fun with it there. Impalapower or somebody will come up with some sort of funny comment.
The chrome guy asked me to remove the paint myself. He polished them and chromed them for $70.
I wont be up to where the sled is until Sunday. I'll mount them and try to remember to take pics and post those.
Probably over the summer I will put a few of the flush single LED lights in the black plastic pieces that surrond the now chrome parts. So that at night it looks 'Ghetto Pimped'
