The Rockmeister Express

hearing you had a great time is what its all about. Me too. I seriously could have done without the flying though. I know that's not the longest I've ever jumped a sled but it might be the longest I've ever jumped a sled and had no idea I was about to go Flying! I can't believe I've had NO stiffness or soreness anywhere since my flight. But you know what they say, "any landing you can walk away from is a good one." And how about that phazer staying on line still Idling like nothing happened?? My wife got me a gopro for christmas too, but I can't have it until thursday morning. :o| Damn I wish I had that on Video.

Rock, nice thread. You stole my idea with the tipped up rails (great minds . . .). With the skid without the track, sitting flat, how much clearence or space do you have at the rear tips? I have been thinking about doing this since Yammie announced it last season, I think it would help with push in the corners as well as ski lift. My rail extentions need a little attention any way. Need to find someone who can weld aluminum and remill some areas and cut the angle on the mounting end, then I will just have to re-drill the mounting plate holes.

Thanks! Lol @ Great Minds. :-o
They are about 1/2" off the floor, will probably make them about 1" plus and use larger wheels eventually.
I would say go with 12 degrees or so, then bigger wheels, end up with approximately 10 degrees.
Not too tough to do.
If you sandwich the plates like I did, they are pretty tough, should hold up no problem.
For now they are good and will probably leave them the way they are until after Muni.

You heading to Muni?
Looking for a roomie right now.

PS Like your signature line! ;)!

Thanks for the info, is that 1" with the track installed or just the skid on the floor?

Muni, sorry but not this time, maybe Feb.

Signature line, well I should probably remove it now, since I had the heart attack last spring, my perspective has changed a little, funny how that works.

With or without the track, should be a rise of 1" at the rear, except for any track bending going around the rear wheels. :4STroke:

PS You doing ok now?

Sorry haven't posted much!
Been building and testing Warm Hands Controllers like crazy! :-o
Hopefully get to do some more stuff on my sled this weekend! :yam:

Hhahhaha! I love it!

Oooops... didn't know it was a secret...
Promise, I won't tell anyone... Shhhhhhhhhhhhh... ;):D

Sorry I haven't added anything here lately.
Been incredibly involved with The Warm Hands Controllers!

You can see the Controller and what it does here:

Not much to look at, but what a difference!
Nice Warm Hands! :-o

I have some Controllers to finish tonight & tomorrow, then hopefully get a chance to do a few things on my sled and off to Muni!!!

YEAH BAAAAAABY!!!! LaLaLa

Been SUPER busy building Warm Hands Controller for you guys, so haven't been able to post.
Did manage to get my 13mm Sway Bar installed before Jan Muni ride.

Like the ride, definitely a big change in anti-roll!

Note the relaxed posture, yet "at the ready" attitude...

Much like the Cheeta, this beast is incredibly fast, and is able to sprint at incredible speeds as required, especially when hunting lesser prey.
Likes to play, yet can be very serious when challenged.

Has Jaguar like reflexes...

Hahahhahhaa!

I love this!

While in Gaylord last week, a woman that was staying at the motel, was walking to her Vector.
She sees my sled and does a double take.

Then she blurts out:
"That thing looks like it's ready to EAT something!"

WoooHooo!!!
I'm ok with that... *beams*

Man - rockmeister - your sled is even checking up on the ladies on your behalf, your sled is way cool. I hope one of mine will learn that someday :)

Hhahahhahhaa!
I'm rolling here!
Tnx Dude! :-o

HAHAHAHA your welcome, tell your sled to say HI to the ladies from me :)

It is amazing how just a very small adjustment to the rear suspension can make a HUGE difference!

I love the Doo suspension!!! LaLaLa
It is very adjustable, and the adjustments get you right where you need to be!

Had too much weight transfer on take-off, had to watch how much throttle I gave in a corner or straight it would go!
(Was fun pulling wheelies though! lol)
At the same time, you could feel that it was almost in range of being correct, something that never happened with the factory suspension, no matter how much I adjusted it.

Doo uses an adjustable coupler block (kinda like the spring pre-load blocks on many sleds).

Added more coupling by rotating the coupling adjustment block one notch.
Talk about a major improvement!!!
The sled TURNS now!
Even when on the throttle hard!

The more I use the Doo suspension, the more I like it! ;)!
(This is the opposite of the stock suspension, the more I used the stock one, the less I liked it.)
The new suspension is very hard to bottom out, yet is very supple in the rough stuff. (Again, something that was near to impossible with the factory suspension.)
Talk about a great ride! :bling

Another great thing I have noticed, is that this suspension doesn't "Thunk-Thunk" as you go over bumps at low speeds like the stock coupling rods did.
In fact, the Doo suspension is totally quiet!
Am VERY happy with it!!! ;)!
