Not to be a party pooper but wasn't there some good cold air this weekend with some tail winds, that surely will help with the times and ET I'm sure people don't want to be mislead if all the facts are not present.
The flags on the bridge by the starting line were facing the burnout box, so there was a headwind. Problem with WIR is it's down in a hole surrounded by very tall trees. When there is more than 1 inch of rain per hour, the pits will be under 2 feet of water where my pit spot is. The only opening is the end of the track and when it's windy from the south, everything funnels down from the end of the track. Even a north wind will swirl back around like Shagman mentioned....so no tail wind. **If you watch the video, the trees aren't moving and no burnout smoke so wind was directly at us. WIR track runs NE to SW. I keep track of what other people are running so when their class goes up to race I can see if they are running faster/quicker or not. Like Shag said, everyone was running close to their times as last few weeks, maybe .03 was what I was seeing as a difference in most cases.
As for the cool temps, they were the same temperature because most races are later in the evening that can get to 60's and Saturday was a start early day because of the race party and temps were in the low 60's, just that people were wearing sweatshirts.
Now, Da Grove racetrack is wide open between corn fields and runs S to N. If I were at Da Grove and ran a crazy fast number I would be honest and tell everyone if a tail wind helped me. But, I have tried and tried again to see a 10 second run out of a non-boosted Viper and even with my clutching only revving 9,200....the EVO flash, the EVO Header/muffler, the airbox mod and Thunder Products clutching is what got me there....but it just so happened that the EVO flash was the latest mod that I put on my sled. According to the dyno numbers I would have to say i'm right on saying the flash does work and had zero start issues, no kick-backs and the sled sounds so mean.

(WFRV) KAUKAUNA (AP) - Severe weather in the Fox Cities has made a mess of Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna.
The Fox River Racing Club says Thursday night's WAPL/Budwesier Triple crown race is cancelled and Saturday's Red, White and Blue series race may have to be postponed as well.
Club Secretary Clint Smith says heavy rains caused a creek to overflow and part of the dragstrip washed away.
A section of the pits is under two feet of water, fences were knocked over and gravel under the grandstands washed onto the half-mile race track. Electricity and phone service was also knocked out.
More thunderstorms with potentially heavy downpours are expected today.
