THEY ARE HERE

I was definately looking for the turbo in the $10,500 price range with the vector mill. Oh well, SRX for yet another year. Is it possible they are still holding back for a late release? I can't believe the prices on these things though!

-Rider forward and thicker seat equals better ride!! -“better ride" is good! Remember...
-Fuel injection compensates for better consistent fuel delivery which equates to more HP in warm temps or high altitude giving better economy at the same time. Obviously will be more expensive though.
-I personally like the lineup and think this site played a big roll on every improvement made to date from the original 03 RX-1.
I wanted rider forward, fuel injection and better suspension and seat combo...
-I’ll take my Attak in blue and give me one of them low windshields to go please!

You obviously don't do a lot of 70 MPH trail riding in -10 F weather do you? Either that or you love being cold.
Being from the far north of Ontario and riding there all my life, I've done allot of riding in -40 temps! sometimes even colder! Trick is proper clothing and a proper helmet!! I don't need a tall windshield anymore now that I moved 11 hours south to southern Ontario to the Muskoka area.

I wouldn't count on any late release. $10500 for a turbo would be cheap or at least reasonable. I'd belive they would start turbos at $12500.

You can get a Vector for $7,000 easy. Your saying it would cost the factory $5,500 per turbo? They should be able to do it for less than the aftermarket. I could be wrong, you're talking to a two stroke guy after all!

Could also be that the US $$ exchange rate is finally having its effect on prices. It's way down from what it was against overseas currencies a few years ago: anybody done a trip to Canada recently, much more than a 7% rise in relative prices against the US$.

Yamaha has done a pretty good job with the RX / Warrior replacements.

It was touch and go whether I went Rev or Warrior in '04, now I can have the best of both worlds in 1 platform. From the Maximum Sleds site, it sounds like the forward position isn't nearly as extreme as the Rev, so good for longer days.

I ride sport bikes and sport-touring bikes during the non-winter months, so thie riding position is much more natural for me than the classic 'cruiser' feet-in-front position, much easier to stand up over the bumps.

I was expecting a bit more power, but who knows, maybe the power is stronger at lower rpm.

For me, it's mostly all there for trail riding and high-speed touring.

I reckon this is a really good update.

even if they did put a turbo on the sleds...ppl would still be complaining because its not producing 300hp...people knew that fuel injection was gonna add $1k so i dont know what there complaining about it. i seriously dont know what u guys r complaining about because yamaha did what u asked for and if u want a turbo so bad go and put one on urself...then u'll get ur turbo. i personally like the new styling. glad to see the mountain guys get what they've been asking for. see how much hp they can get with a turbo on that apex mtn. oh the rev style seating...great idea by yamaha. i think in 2005 i wouldnt be surprised to see yamaha leading in sales-BIG TIME. unless the other companies get there stuff together. u got what u wanted and stop complaining!!!

Sorry, talking about the 4 cylinder models.

I am pleased with what I have seen :yam:

I'll need to ride to Albany thurs. to sit on it, but I'll take an RTX or a GT with the tall windshield.

EFI is just what I wanted, now I'll just add BOOST ;)!

It'll be interesting to see how their pricing strategy works...that's a big jump...

The thing that will inspire the bulk of people to trade up and pay these prices is HP gain... On that issue they failed to follow through. Since they built the new Apex motor from the ground up anyway...it wouldn't have been that difficult to tweak another 10 HP out of it...

A peasly 5HP gain over my '05 = I won't be back in the market to upgrade for some time since it will be a few model years before they recoupe their tooling costs and modify this motor... While it looks like they did a fine job in enhancing a number of things...they really blew it on the horsepower, IMO.

A FAN COOLED RADIATOR!!!!!! ;)! Can you belive it. I guess us poor saps with the 05 warriors that overheat were just imagining it. Good decision, but fix the 05's first. :o|

Forward seating, no big deal to me. Looks are nice, HP is good, shocks are good. I think it will bring more riders to 4 strokes.

But for 10k plus they had better be.

Rest assure Yamaha has made the right decision on the HP and Reliablity combination. Alot of these price updates you see on these sleds are due to the rising costs of materials also. Check the increase in the cost of steel or any other raw material vs. this time last year. Yes HP costs money but your not paying the total increase due to a 5HP gain.

I like what I see, I'll be snow checking A new Red ATTAK.

*Better graphics would have been nice.

*I heard not likely you will ever see a factory turbo.

*New rad & fan should answer all of the heating questions that the warrior had. ;)!

*150hp, was hoping for more, Matt going to need one of your magical clutch kits for this baby!

I doubt Yamaha will go from last all the way to first in sales with a $1,000 increase in price while only adding 5hp. I think Ski Doo will sell a crap load of Mach Z's though. Same price, 15 more horses, lighter. I honestly do like the looks of the Apex, but not for that price. Now it doesn't look like I can get an RX-1 for $9,000 anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love yamaha sleds, but I think they're pricing them way out of reach, especially with the little snow we get.
