THEY ARE HERE

Rest assure Yamaha has made the right decision on the HP and Reliablity combination. Alot of these price updates you see on these sleds are due to the rising costs of materials also. Check the increase in the cost of steel or any other raw material vs. this time last year. Yes HP costs money but your not paying the total increase due to a 5HP gain.

The market will decide if they made the right decision on the HP. There is a large segment of this market that will buy a sled primarily on whether they can buy with it the boasting rights to being the fastest... What is the primary reason someone buys a MACH Z? It isn't because of it's refined trail manners or reliability, I assure you.

You overcome a big part of the market reluctance to four strokes if you can boast of being the FASTEST as well as the most comfortable, most refined, best fuel economy, reliability, etc....

This is the one area they missed their mark on with this new model line introduction...

i think in 2005 i wouldnt be surprised to see yamaha leading in sales-BIG TIME. unless the other companies get there stuff together. u got what u wanted and stop complaining!!!

I doubt Yamaha will go from last all the way to first in sales with a $1,000 increase in price while only adding 5hp. I think Ski Doo will sell a crap load of Mach Z's though. Same price, 15 more horses, lighter. I honestly do like the looks of the Apex, but not for that price. Now it doesn't look like I can get an RX-1 for $9,000 anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love yamaha sleds, but I think they're pricing them way out of reach, especially with the little snow we get.

There is much more to a sled than HP. Yes HP is important but before you get to worked up about the price compare all the benefits and features of both the Mach and Yamaha's new line. 4 stroke has to be worth something. MILES! Who cares about the 165HP Mach if you can't keep it out of the shop!!

well they got 2 make money no matter how much resources Yamaha has
all these changes and keep it at the same price?...we knew that would not happen
they are alot smarter then we give them credit 4
they will be #1 in sells...maybe not this year or 06 but 07 with the 08s they will be

You may know this, but how bout someone who wants a sled and is impartial to brands. Now lets compare the Apex price to that of an F-7. We both know the F-7 is junk, but from a impartial buyers standpoint, it looks like a good deal.

Hey guys they changed the crank on this 4 stroke too made it lighter I hope it stands up to the task. The jury is still out until it has proven itself.

Stock turbo would have taken them there.

I went and saw them in person about an hour ago....A couple things I haven't heard mentioned here are.

The new 4 cylinder's crank was reduced by 2 pounds  this rep who rode one said if the 05 rx1 feels like it has 150 hp the new one feels like it has 170. Combined with the FI a huge improvement.

The new dash was cool with the elec shock adjust and the airbox is part of the hood, very funky the way it comes apart.

The cowl around the handle bar area is completely different.

I was also told that they are just getting started with the tech they have and I got one rep to almost admit that the 3 banger will have FI next year.

I like em. :4STroke:

I talked to my dealer while he was at the show and was told you have to pull part of the head lite assembly to change plugs and some other part also. I forgot what it was. The hood has to be unscrewed to open it according to him. I havent seen it yet. Thinks it looked like a old Ski Doo. Thought it was sort of a thrown together look to it in real according to hom.

yes it would of sled dog but then it would be up 2 $13 000 american which is the price of a 05 rx-1 here in canada
they do it in time and they stay there for a long long time

i was just on the hcs forum and there was about 10 guys already that were mostly poo drivers and a couple of other guys sayin that they were interested in buyin a yamaha sled...2006 model. u guys keep forgettin about the nytro.....priced to seel at 9k....basically the ditchbanger of yamaha. i have to give yamaha credit...first there was the rx1, then the warrior, and the whole RS series, now 8 new sleds this year....i wonder what'll happen next year?!? RADIATOR best idea for yamaha in 06

impartial- sure buy the F7 and deal with the headaches. I'd rather spend the extra money and have something reliable. You get what you pay for!

they really blew it on the horsepower, IMO.

But how much horsepower will it take before the insurance company won't insure you? Adding your own HP is probably the way to go, insurance won't know then.

Maybe you or I look more at the big picture and assess all there is to like about the 4 stroke platform...but they've already hooked us, haven't they?

The name of the game now is bringing crossover customers away from the competition's 2 strokes...and giving us, who already have the RX1 a reason to buy again...

5HP gain ain't gonna get the job done when you consider the cool grand to $1500 extra it will cost...not for the lion's share of the market.

I would agree completely. I'm sure this thing feels like much more than 150HP them are claiming.
