Thinking of selling my bender turbo apex kit.

the motor will respond just as qiuckly as a stock sled would it just may take a split second to biuld boost, thats why its hard for me to believe that a stock sled would beat a turboed one out of the hole they will come out of the hole the same, except the turbo will biuld boost in about a 1/2 sled length and be gone. so if the throttle response on a stock sled is fast enough for you then a turbo will be as will.

Mainly due to the fact the sled is clutched to match power on boost and when not on boost is will turn like 2500 rpms less.

Did Terry sellout ? I don't think bender is around anymore ?

Suppose tu have another one taking over business, but since I have not anymore my bender, this is of no more interest to me

Are you guys sure? I hear Terry sold all but the turbos and that he was still doing those?

7.9 seconds at 179 mph!!! Who cares???????????? This is a full blown race sled. does not apply to this conversation. John Forces mustang runs over 300mph in 1/4 mile. That does not mean that I can buy a mustang for daily use, slap a blower on it, and go 300mph. So many people want to hang there hat on CPR running 7 secs. I put no weight in that when looking for a good trail turbo kit. Frankly, the CPR kit was less trail friendly of the turbos I have seen. Great power but significant heat issues.

Talk to FREAK! He can explain everything to you.
:ORC :home: :moon:
FREAK has one of the fastest sleds around and can ride it everyday!!
He runs NOS ALSO! :nos

This was FREAKS response in Tubo vs Supecharger Thread

You need to whatch a couple videos and see what Freaks sled can do!
INCREDIBLE!!!! ;)!

Big boost is for racing, not your average sport riding. There is no such thing as a race sled you can ride, or a trail sled you can race. Don't get greedy!!!!!!

FREAK (The Man's Response)
With all due respect I disagree. That used to be true. I have one of the fastest mtn racers in north america yet I could take it for a full trail or mtn ride any time I want, and I do. At the shootout this year I raced it straight for 3 days and blew 15 bottles of Nitrous. The only sled that beat me was Lindermans which sat in the trailer until the hour of the race and was quickly put away afterwards. Yamaha changed the rules.

I have a VERY different memory of that event than you do. I do not recall EVER seeing you pull us out of the hole. I'm betting that Ryan and Peter remember it a bit differently too. You may have pulled Jon out of the hole... but you need to remember that he just installed his turbo that weekend and his jetting and clutching were FAR from dialed in.

If you did in fact pull me out of the hole then you are the first NA RX-1 that has ever done that without jumping at the starting line.

Ray, I just asked for a non-biased, third party view from somebody who was watching with nothing to gain (just in case I was wrong). Tura confirms my report that I indeed came out first as I stated but all three of you (Ryan, You and Jon) smoked by me rather quickly. The same happened the last time once Peter got his skid fixed.

I also recall all of you being surprised that I was runing the stock '03 clutching set-up. I also had less rolling resistance with the stock 151" track vs. you guys all runing longer tracks

As for running against my SC; Tura will be going back to College to finish her RN degree next semester so, we won't be able to make it out there for the next couple years with me being the only Income source.

Edit; in response to snowy1's comment about a stock NA RX-1 beating a TRX-1 off the line. The turbo until spooled up is creating a HP loss comming off the line vs a NA sled. If you doublt that; take the two sleds and run the same clutching/ jetting in each. Then disconnect the charge tube and plenum on the turboed sled and replace it with the same air intake as the NA sled. Now which one is going to be quicker/faster?

The turbos don't have as much HP loss as the SC and it's belt drive but, it does in fact have some due to the exhaust restriction caused by the turbo's impellers. Anybody who denies this is lying to themselves.

Jim

Not really a big enough deal to argue. Interesting that your wife is an unbiased third party though..........

Bring your sled out this year and lets see how she runs. I would like to ride with a good running SC.
