I have 2 Yamahas', have purchased 2 Quebec passes every year($600.) and cannot ride! We go south at the end of January, and therefore need to ride before then! There is a hint of snow coming this W/E, but certainly not enough for the groomers to start their engines! I'm ready to travel, but a quick look at Open Trails suggests Hudson Bay! The 14 day forecast looks dismal as well. It will be at least the middle of January before a base is/might be set, let alone lakes being safe. I thought maybe just call it a day and sell the passes.... No, not possible, when looking over the QC snowmobile site.... only transfers are allowed from 1 machine to another, but same owner! GRR! This is getting to the point of calling it a day, selling the machines, and choose something different. I've been snowmobiling since the 60's.... but GREEN on New Years... well, I'm just about done! Maybe an airplane would/should be in the works....
(Secretly hoping my complaint will change the weather!) LOL!

I totally understand ! hopefully we get a bunch to last 3+ months! drove up to the local ski resort to look at the snow there making and fun people are having.maybe i should sell and get some snowboards and skies haha .:letsnow::letsnow::winter::Rockon:

We have NOTHING in the Central NY and Finger Lakes areas. Not that I mind since my Attak is still on the sled lift. But still, I don't have any real motivation to get the sled done!

We've had less than 1" of snow "ALL" Dec.............Have a fancy new motel "PAID" for already for the 16th-19th. Yup you guessed it, no ride able snow yet.. And that's up near the big MAC. bridge.............. I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo depressed. MM.:die

Well the Great White North is not so white yet either. All I see is small skiffs of snow and a lot of brown grass.
Only the lakes are good to drive on as we had cold weather earlier in the season. All trails are closed in our area.:o|:o|:o|:whine::whine::whine:

I'll try to cheer you up. Go north!!! Pic from tonight just a few hours up 17...

Well, yes... it's going to snow Sat... 5>10 cm... that's the good news! Come Sun,, RAIN and temps of +10C (shakes head), Can someone explain how Environment Canada suggests temperature extremes from Sat high -8C, Sat eves -6C, Sun +10C, Sun eves -14C and the rest of next week - double digits!!!! I think I'm going to trade for some WaveRunners! Hey, come to think of it I won't have trail permits to purchase!
\Please, I'm only joking, and trying to Vent some anger at the weather! LOL!

Still haven't fired up my Vector yet from it's summer hibernation, and at this point, I think I'll wait until we receive a promising forecast.

2 permits=$340 bucks, insurance due=$720(2 sleds) new gear and boots for my son=$400, the list goes on! Hoping things change real soon around these parts as well.

Yes not fun staring at new sled beginning of January and not much better for next two weeks either. Central Ontario no better

Only real rideable snow with groomed trails that I am aware of, is in Cochrane Ont. I normally ride the Port Perry and surrounding areas and there is absolutely nothing!

Even in the normal snow belt areas like North Bay, Sudbury, Hunstville etc, very little snow with no trails open yet.
