Before anyone freaks out, or Tom zaps my question...I will admit, it's the thumb warmer on my '12 AC snopro. 2 stroke, F800 and no battery. Although I brought it to the Munising ride-in...I didn't have a chance to test ride it, nor even ride with the TY guys. I got stuck riding with old friends who seemed to latch on to my week up there. I hope everyone had a good time, and it was great to meet Shagman! The SW is an incredible machine, but I'll need many years of riding before I can harness the power.....I am certain I would have only slowed the TY ride down.

I went down to Gaylord for another ride-in, and the conditions were poor...an ideal time to test drive this smoking, rattling oil drinker! Turns out it's a lot of fun, and the weight difference between an Apex / SW and a F800 is extremely noticeable. I'd still always pick a Yamaha....but it was fun to beat on a Cat! As we've found out, the SW can heat up quickly. In 40 degree slush and bare spots everywhere....there was no way I'd ride the SW.

Anyways..I struggle with electrical problems, and searching A.Chat is like sticking an ice pick in your eye.

Anyone have any experience dealing with a thumb warmer on a 2-smoker? I'll start looking through the Viper threads here, as I'm guessing it's fairly close. I've already gathered that the attachment soldering can be troublesome on Cats.

Much appreciated!

I don't really know why it would be different on a 2t really? The only advice I could offer is the same whether it's the hand warmer or thumb, and only because I assume the thumb is also plug and play.

Just go buy a new one.

The thing is probably so cheap you'll laugh, and if it does plug and play it will be as simple as peeling the old one off and sticking the new one on. I know I've made a lot of assumptions here but I'm feeling pretty optimistic about 'em... ;)

The one on my Viper doesn't work well. Bought a new one, $35. You have to split your throttle block so get a new clip for the throttle lever.

I've got a new take off lever from my sidewinder if you need one.
