The gates grabs very hard. I will try less weight with 3-3 wrap or 6-1 if the rpm still lowWhat would a 6-3 wrap without a turbo do?
Just curious cuz I had mine at 6-2 and ran 95 with max RPM 9160. Set it to 6-1 and ran only 91 at 8790 max RPM.
Have the Gates belt, 911 cover, K&N filters, Ulmers can, and fuel controller.

Hi guys anyone on here running this kit on a nytro.if so can someone help me with my setup. My sled has a hurricane power up grade,1.5 inch 144 track.tested a little today hitting the rev limiter with the stock 43 wrapped at 6/1 blue spring.i also tried a 48/40 helix but noticed a little bog off the start but pulled good in the mid range.i am thinking the 48/40might be a bit to steep at the start.

Sorry for the late response....was out of town all weekend.
The 48/40 sounds a tad steep on take off and will really get your sled hooking good, that is the bog you are having I think.
Was it hitting the rev limiter on just take off?
Last weekend i installed the kit on my 2014 LTX and WOW this really rips, now it runs like it should have from the factory, it pulls hard down low, enough that it pulled the skis off the ground, then really stretches your arms in the mid range. Wished that the trails weren't so beat up saturday late afternoon so i could see what the top end speeds would be, oh well guess that will have to wait til next trip...really good spent money...woohoo

For those running the Carbon Fiber belt, I posted this in the clutching section to let you know how long one of these belts can last under the most harsh conditions.
I am not easy on my sled.... LOL. From a lot of time testing on trail and off-trail last year, a full season of asphalt racing, my colorado trip over New Years and all on and off-trail so far this year before my belt finally decided to let go. Gates is right, it will not blow apart like the 8DN. It simply starts to break little pieces off. The belt would have still got me home which is really something as it still holds it's shape....just that the top was breaking apart.
Clutches are so nice and shiny, no black spots and as you can see, that belt rides right up to the
tip of the clutch![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

I am now running that belt on both of mine....... well the 15 that is done and at 400 miles now running it with the boost at 7#'s (about 225 hp) I have a clean clutch bay and this belt hooks up. Ulmer cleaned the clutches before he put them in and they look like brand new still.

Yes.it only hits the rev limiter on take off.would going too 6/2 on the blue spring help.i also switched the blue spring too a Yamaha silver and now it doesn't hit the rev limiter.would a 46/40 helix work better with the blue spring.Sorry for the late response....was out of town all weekend.

The silver spring is just a tad softer than the blue spring Thunder Products sells.... How does it feel now that you aren't hitting the rev limiter and pull throughout the mid range?
Ran a 46/40 this past weekend and it's a rocket off of the line, but the 40 seemed lazy. Snow conditions were wet too.

I'm sure its on this thread somewhere I've obviously missed it if it is, I need some help, Im running the BV kit with 911 cover and OSP secondary adj on my 15 ltx Im still hitting the limiter quite heavily (on ice with quite a bit of track spin) on take off ,, I have the 1/4 and 3/4 set screw in the heel with Lonn's set-up in the the middle and tip, Do I need to do something with the weights or secondary spring position? or am I simply studded wrong? 144, 1.5" warthogs 1.25" lug. I'm pretty green when it comes to clutching......

I am in the same boat as you are, the best thing you can do right now is to get the gate's carbon fiber belt #(40C4340) 8 dn length, on good snow that should keep you off the rev limiter on take off, it works for me, I believe Lonn is working on getting some tungsten set screw's for the heel to try and solve this issue that some of us are having, next step is the raising the limiter with the Evo flash, this is what I am doing in the near future, don't get me wrong it's a great clutch kit, I just think the base weight is a tad on the light side.I'm sure its on this thread somewhere I've obviously missed it if it is, I need some help, Im running the BV kit with 911 cover and OSP secondary adj on my 15 ltx Im still hitting the limiter quite heavily (on ice with quite a bit of track spin) on take off ,, I have the 1/4 and 3/4 set screw in the heel with Lonn's set-up in the the middle and tip, Do I need to do something with the weights or secondary spring position? or am I simply studded wrong? 144, 1.5" warthogs 1.25" lug. Okay guys, finally satisfied as having a final set-up for my BV kit. Answer to my rev limiter issue were pretty well cured by switching to Gates C12 8dn equivilant. Biggest problem seamed to be slipping 8dn belt in the primary. My clutches were getting black bottom to top shortly after complete cleaning.
BV weight set-up: 1" set screw in heel, 3/8 aluminum + 2 thin washers middle, 3/8 steel + 2 thin washers tip.
Helix: Dalton 46/40 with BV blue spring wrapped 6-1. Can wrap 6-2 for off trail days.
Primary Spring: Yamaha Yellow-Pink-Yellow (softer engagement but slightly stiffer finish rate than stock Blue-Silver-Blue.
Nos-Pro rode my sled on Friday, and I got the thumbs up seal of approval.
Engine is all stock, but I do have a Sandale can.
Still tap rev limiter once in a while at hard launch, but only once occasionally, and sled really pulls through mid range. Great pull down low in the deep snow.

I'm going to add that I did a lot of wrenching this weekend with my sled and can tell that if you lighten the tip too much (especially with a 153" 2.25 paddle track with the 8DN) you will get belt slip up on top.
These Vipers love tip weight and can tell you my setup with the 8DN belt was faster at 8,600 rpms than at 9,200
I tried different springs, lots of weight in the heel, less weight in the heel and more weight up top with the 8DN belt. For those who want a lot of pull on bottom end with awesome fuel mileage, put more weight in the tip and shoot for 8,600 rpm. The sled will sound low and laggy, but I could pull more mph and yank the skis at anytime. I used way less fuel than everyone else at our stop Saturday while heading to the I-500 races.
