Hello All,
I purchased a Thunder products belt adjuster and new secondary spring for my SR-Viper at Haydays..
The problem is I can't get my belt to ride even or slightly above the clutch sleeves as the install video says to do.
I don't even get a 1/4 turn in and the adjuster bottoms out on the shaft. If my thoughts are right in on the adjuster will make belt sit deeper in the clutch and out CCW sit higher in the clutch?
The new secondary spring was to aide in the spring bind these clutches are known to have from what I'm told what would the spring locations be for this spring? I was told to talk to NOSMAN is the one that knows this system. HELP!!!

Hi. I'm experiencing the same kind of thing. I back out the TP adjuster to bring the helix sheave closer to the fixed sheave and upon shifting, when the clutch starts to float, the washer will fall off of the shoulder of the bushing spacer and then bind the helix from returning to full close against the adjuster. If I tighten the adjuster to the point where the washer is locked over the bushing spacer, then I wont have enough closure between the sheaves to reduce the deflection and bring the belt to the outside.. Im using the 8DN belt and have removed the factory adjusting screws and washers so they are not limiting the closure. Is there something Im doing or not doing right?

Any resolution to this issue? Just put the adjuster and a brand new 8JP belt on and cant get the belt adjusted to flush or slightly above the sheaves.
I had TP go through both clutches, machine the flashing, balance them and then install their heavy hitter kit. Any suggestions for how to get it adjusted properly. I can pull the adjuster all the way off and the belt will still be about 0.5mm below the sheaves. Motor has never been out but I converted this sled (2014 Viper) to the 2017 jack shaft, mount and bearings. Could the clutches be too close together due to swapping the jack shaft parts? All belts since the jack shaft swap (6k miles) have worn evenly and I have not blown any belts.

Mills have you removed the 3 factory bolts on the backside of the secondary? Plus, the 8JP is shorter in circumference than the 8DN and should be set at 1-2 mm below the top of the sheaves.

Denny, Yes bolts are out of the back of the clutch. T.P. told me to use the 8JP belt with this set up. This belt is new to me. I have always run the 8DN belt so I did not know the 8JP should be below by 1-2 mm. I will re-adjust
