NOS-PRO I ordered the spring yesterday, will report back with results. All I know is the spring I'm running now is almost impossible to install by your self and is only wound at 10 deg. It is green in color and came with my clutch kit from hurricane I will shot Dave a call maybe he will tell me what I have.

The orange spring works really good. I'm very happy with everything from thunder products.

Mine came with a purple setting @0-1 as per Alan Ulmer testing. Your helix should have engraved numbers on the side of the ramp.NOS-PRO I ordered the spring yesterday, will report back with results. By all means I am not arguing with you, it may work. It may not! There's only one way to find out. Now I have to buy one lol. But I'm just saying my pink spring hooks and works every where. I have spent some good amount of time with clutches, so I understand the science.
Are you implying the pink is stronger then the orange??
When twisted fully...yes. The new orange spring has a smaller wire diameter

springs have the tangs in different locations so the percentage may be off with that green spring.
This is why the guys running the springs in their Apex set it at 2-3 or 3-3. I recommend the older style clutches...the orange be set at 2-3 or 3-3.

Did you order the spring directly from TP or is there some place in Canada that have them?NOS-PRO I ordered the spring yesterday, will report back with results. - Last year put in the TP Big Venom kit, TP secondary adjuster and an Ulmer 47/41 helix on my 16 RTX. Worked pretty good. This year I switched to the orange secondary spring at 3-3 and also went to the TP 14.8 rollers. Finally got out last weekend on the river for the first time and the sled ran 6 mph better top end then it ever did last year. Happy so far. Now we just need to get some snow to try it on the trails.

What's your new top speed?

104. Never got past 98 last year. That’s on ice with at most an inch of snow on it. Perfect for hi speed running.

I have my spring here I'm just debating if I should run a new baseline then install it or if I should install it and get things set then go back to old secondary to test the difference in RPM.
I'd really like to know.
Also debating 8DN or 8JP. The little bit that I ran the 8JP it felt really strong. Doubt I can get the RPM's up enough to pull the Gates but may try that later.
Would sure be nice if we'd get enough snow to open locally so I can test...

I'm running the 8JP and that's what I used all last year too. I have a new 8DN but have not ran it yet since the JP has been working out well for me.

I put the orange spring in at 3-3 with the 8JP and Ulmers primary as it came. I only ran the JP belt a little while but it sure felt spunky and the RPM's were higher, but I did not have the deflection set and it was last ride of the season. Went back to the 8JP next season for some reason. I suppose I just figured the JP was the red headed step child with all the bad reviews it had early on. We'll see how it goes. Theoretically I should have to add weight or try smaller 14.5mm rollers but that Sno-X track is quite the different animal.

I'm at 3-3 and killed 2 belts this season, one had over 1500 miles, the other over a 1000 from previous season, but i run hard so its to be expected, pretty satisfied so far.I know a lot of the Sidwinders are going to a 2-3 wrap instead of the 3-3...I'm on the fence...I have 500-600 miles at 3-3 and it works good...anybody with a mpi 180 kit having belt problems at 3-3?
