Thundercat Hp DynoTech

Leaner A/F for whatever reason. 11.5 vs 12.5 on the Cat. This contributed to more hp along with some ethanol content in the Cat.

Oh, please don't tell me that I should've bought the cat version. Darn it! Yamaha clutching and ecu tipped the scales for me. Hopefully production models will be similar. Otherwise I will never hear the end of it from my cat buddies.

Wow 210 on a new motor is awesome. Sure glad I spring ordered cuz this new Yamaha motor is going to be a beast. It was 90 degrees here this weekend but me and my buddies were talking sleds. 2 of us are getting new Winders and another is boosting his Doo 1200. Think Snow!!!

same motor...same ecu...same exhaust......maybe the 204 with the leaner afr was the pre production and the new is the production model...

The more I think about it, 7 hp difference seems to be pretty large. I can see a couple hp variance, but more than 5 is quite a bit. Especially if we're talking same exact engine and amount of boost. You usually have to do an actual mod to get an increase of 5 hp on most sleds (exhaust, etc.) Correct me if I'm wrong.

Guys, if you want all the facts, please support DynoTech and sign up for a subscription. Jim is a great guy and deserves our support for all the info he has given out all these years. He claims early production sled with 0 miles! If that's the case, imagine what that sled will make broken in!

Just a degree or two of timing and tweaking the afr can make a big difference. A more aggressive tune (timing, afr) could do it. But now
you are closer to the edge if you get some crap fuel.

Doesn't it correct for bad fuel ?

Sensors cannot adjust for pre-ignition. Lots of good reading. Well worth the annual subscription.
