i think it is amazing the Premier Cat is a Yamacat or Catmaha.

Wouldn't be a bad way to go .

I grew up all Cat Eltigre etc in the early 70s- no plans just thinking.

Yes indeed.. Cat guy here... I like to call it thundercash! What they are thinking in TRF not having some green in that sled is beyond me.. Not digging Cat this year.. The Yamaha is actually CHEAPER THEN THE CAT TURBO.. Really pisses me off.

Maybe MSRP but the word I am hearing is most of the Cat dealers are giving better deals than the Yamaha dealers are on this machine.

problem is only 1 color for the thundercat black.

Any color you like as long as its BLACK. Henry Ford did alright with that if I remember.

Could be but the REAL question is which one will be dialed in on clutching??? In my past experience with CAT I would NOT BET ON THE CAT clutching being even close. They really have struggled in the past few years with the clutching concept IMO

Yamaha power instead of Suzuki power. Not much difference sled wise, a motor change and some reshaped plastic. Cat is using team clutching to remedy the problems they had with Cat clutching. Seemed to work with the last versions of the Suzuki Turbo. I will add however the new Yami has way more safety features built into the motor then before. Jury is out on whether its internals can take 300hp like the Suzuki engine could.

To say the T-Cat is black is a bit off its Black White and red. My Favorite color scheme is the T-Cat But T-Cats where almost always Black except for special order in 2000 for 300 bucks more you could get green. ZR's where mostly green with some exceptions. This year you can get a Black with grey blocking ZR which I kinda like!

Yamaha's Red and white XTX LE 137 is nice as well and would be my choice.

Im so sick of hearing this 300 hp NUMBER STOCK! That is pure BS first thing you had to do was head studs. 2nd was rods alot of sled running around with rods that have stretched. Guys running around with sled leaking antifreeze and that don't even know there head gasket is out. I have seen more than 1 Suzuki motor that has blow up!

I doesn't mater who's engine Yamaha, Suzuki, Cummins, Cat or who ever, if your going to take it up 75 or 80% or more beyond design expect issues.

Now that is something to keep in mind. I would assume the engineers at Yamaha are keeping that in mind.

But was riding a few weeks ago in Manitoba with a TY group and Bob ( with two O's)-how he introduced himself- for 150+ miles per day with no issues and his Turbo charged 4 cylinder Apex- this was detuned to high teens boost and thought to be at 350-375 hp as in summer drag race trim he has dyno'ed north of 430HP with race fuel and a lot more boost also had 3 other Turbo Vipers and again no issues for same distances.

So I was impressed with the turbos as they seemed trail able and reliable.

LOL! Cat forum, cat guys questioning if the Yamaha engine is as strong, Only makes sense to hold the heads down and install stronger rods. Yami motors blowing up at 190hp on this forum. Cat guys buying up the Last of the Turbo Suzuki's cause they don't trust the Yami engine.

Yep that sled was making serious horse pressure! He hit the throttle in front of me and was a hundred yards out in front with the snow from his spinning track still going under my sled down the track he made. Most hp I've seen on pump gas riding on the trail.

Whats really funny is my 7000 Cat now has 3300 miles on it and its banging off the rev limiter at 101 MPH.. So I have to add weight to a clutch and motor that has 3300 miles on it.. Motor is still getting stronger.. That is all i needed to see from my Yamaha 4 stroke to realize how strong these motors are.. Not the least bit worried about the Sidewinder motor
