So I am in the middle of putting the front end of my sled back together and was reading the manual and seen that it says the tie rod body should have that notch section facing front and back, when the previous owner set skis up they left the tie rod body with the notches facing up and down, is this an issue? Why must the tie rod body piece have the notches facing forward and back? Sorry if this is confusing or doesn't make any sense.

Are these notches where you slip an open end wrench on? If so, I wouldn't think it matters. Perhaps a pic of these notches would help...or maybe a scan of the page in the manual?

Ya that's the part, I will try to upload a page out of the manual later.

I can't figure out why they would do that, they are just wrench flats. Weird

Haha thanks raginyamaha, that's the only thing that makes sense, by the picture I just assumed they meant have them wrench marks facing like in the pic.
Thanks again, makes sense now!

Your sled is likely to spontaneously combust if you don't have them as per the manual. Change them now! ;P
