I hope this is not getting boring, but just want to give out input on slides. came back from canada, rode 500 miles plus in two days. yes trails were great . my buddy and I made it on tv a big check stop they had 30 cops there and tv people. ok the slides show about 1/4 inch wear now have a total of 1500 miles and should get at another 1500 . it was worth the 65.00 that I paid. my buddy had a new pair when we start this yr. an now on his 2nd set

$65 each aren't they so both would be $130?

I have 1200 miles on stock red Yamaha sliders. I have more than 14mm left in the most worn spot right at the bend.

Prob wear them out this weekend riding roads if the snow hits right.

I have them on my xtx and like them so far.

Why did you post the same thing an hour and 27 min. Later? Alzheimers? ? Haha

I have 6000 km's on orig.sliders on 2007 Apex. New sliders always wear fast until they get wore in. If you're trying to keep slides looking like new it won,t happen. There is alot of factors involved to not burning out slides, one big thing is snow conditions & running track too tight is the biggest killer. Don't forget these machines move, the faster you go the more they heat up. I find when sliders get close to the line where you are supposed to change them this is where they last the longest.

I have 1,480 miles on the DuPont slides with No wear at all. 2011 Apex. The conditions I've ridden in, I would have been through 3 sets of the Hi-performance slides easily. I don't see a reason why they won't go 10,000 plus miles. Slides aren't a thing I even think about any more.

I'm pretty sure the original poster is talking about the 2011 apex. They have a very well known problem with going through slides in 500 miles. Thus, the new duponts!

He is not talking about previous apex where the slide problem was little to none.

changing sliders

do you have to make any other changes when you install the dupont sliders or do you just swap them out.
