I am thinking 136 and tip up rails the more I think about it, very little down side.
Can't wait for snow.

Actualy, the Attak is hands down faster than the shortie version. Sorry, just a fact.....
MIke
Hey geeez, never meant to offend anyone. What I meant was a stock Attak has higher gearing and faster top end stand a stock rtx or er Apex, that is all.
Obviously once modded and tuned out all of that goes out the window.....
Mine is actually just lightly clutched for more lower end and mid range through the tight twisties we have around here in Northern MN. I never lake race and I really don't care about top end.
My response was to your quote about lost top end. From my knowledge of Doc Yamadoo I doubt he gives a rip about a slight drop in top speed.
Carry on, Gentlemen!

Thats because Yamaha puts a taller gear than this motor can pull on top and all other ranges suffer on the way up. 23-38 is perfect. When both sleds are equal it is a very short lived lead for the 136.We all ride the super speedways of Aroostook county Maine and Mooshead Lake area. Big on top is the rush! No offense taken.

Getting more complicated.
One I have a rear heat exchanger that would need to be moved with tunnel extension ~not a huge deal, and two - wife points out 'you want a new sled any way' and this will be mine, I don't want a longer sled. LOL
The rail extension are 128 =4" (1 an 3/5 lugs, 60 sq inches more track ) while the 136 =7.5" (3 lugs and 112 sq inches more track on the ground) and have talked to some 128 experienced guys who liked it.
I plan on ordering this week, decisions LOL
What is funny is I loved this sled for the first 500 miles with no studs, loved it with 144 with just the 121 so I will be happy with what ever I do.
Which is good.

The longer the better, if you are spending the money to strech it, go 144 you will like the results. I have been riding 136 or longer for about 4 years now and when I got a chance to ride the new 128's at the dealer introductions, I couldn't get off the 128 fast enough. it wouldn't hold the back end in the corners or straights. You get on the 144's and it was a whole different machine. Much better traction and better ride in the bumps. Just my Opinion

you could stretch to 144, weld the suspension solid and it would still ride better
