I disagree Pat, but that's my opinion.pat the rat said:,dont worry,i want them to pay to,but i know they will be the ones complaining, just sayin
My thinking is, some of these guys have been around and using some of these trails for years and rely on them for their incomes so now forcing them to pay for something that they never had to pay before, is just wrong imo.
I know there will be some who strap some gear on their sleds making it look like they are fisherman, trappers etc to avoid the tag/permit combo but these guys, like the freeloaders will have to be dealt with accordingly.
No easy answers in any of this, but like Sasquatch said, one step at a time.

i live minutes from a large lake(temiscaming) there is at least 1000 fish huts on that lake, alot of these guys have never been on a ofsc trail ever, they have a vk or a skandic and the only riding they do is from the house,on to the lake to get to the hut and back home at night, they are going to whine,i already started to talk about the possible new system and they were on my case right away,''i'm not gonna pay for something i dont want'' is the replies i got from a few, hopefully i'm wrong and the new system will be welcomed with minimal issues

Trust me they may not like it, but they will pay if they want to get to the lake. LIke I said, ATV's have to apy for their plates, so whats the difference..

OFSC is going for money on the Val tag for the trails. So do you take a little and give nothing in return or do you take the whole fee and give them trails to run.
I see many fisherman using our trails to access certain lakes. I also know of and have seen many who do not. Some truck to the lake just so they do not use the trails.
Yep some Fisherman will be bent! So will a lot of Dads who give the kid their sled to ride and tell them to stay off the trails because they won't buy a pass. They are even more bent when the kid gets stopped and fined however.
You can't make everyone happy but you can save the OFSC trail system for all!
Got my Manitoba pass in the mail the other day and am going to sell OFSC passes on the weekend for the last day before they go up. Need to pick up my Ontario pass before it goes up. So I have Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan (Manitoba Pass Covers Saskatchewan) to ride in. Looking forward to another season.

man, that must be nice to be able to ride 3 province,i could ride quebec cuz i'm on the border but it would be an investment buying passes for 2 sleds,$1000 in passes would be too much for me

210 for Ontario plus 125 for Manitoba. 335 bucks! Been doing this for 6 years or so now! Looks like I have to pick up a Minnesota pass this year as well. Will have to research how to get one of those!

Pat, aren't Quebec passes $280 if bought by tomorrow with $50 of that going towards ins. for your sled and $40 of that refunded to you (by mail) at seasons end if you are not a Quebec citizen. At least this is what I was told by one of our clubs' reps (ofsc).

I wonder how many actually know the $10 increase this year strictly goes to the groomer fund?

280 yes for Quebec pass and 40 dollar rebate if you Purchased an Ontario pass ( or other provincial pass that has insurance built in ) SO they give you the insurance rebate since you already have insurance if you bought another pass. End of season I heard they mail you a cheque.
