Pat, aren't Quebec passes $280 if bought by tomorrow with $50 of that going towards ins. for your sled and $40 of that refunded to you (by mail) at seasons end if you are not a Quebec citizen. At least this is what I was told by one of our clubs' reps (ofsc).

280 yes for Quebec pass and 40 dollar rebate if you Purchased an Ontario pass ( or other provincial pass that has insurance built in ) SO they give you the insurance rebate since you already have insurance if you bought another pass. End of season I heard they mail you a cheque.

And I bet their compliance is almost a 100%? :dunno:
Hey Irv go to the quebec snowmobile club site read the stats and let us know on the compliance will ya , while your there check on their groomer fund too

Good read continued, response to the response.

Funny, if we have a bad winter, then it's the OFSC's fault; not Mom Nature's or anyone else's, it's the OFSC :drink:

I don't for one minute believe that the average rider holds te OFSC responsiable for a bad winter, I do believe that when less than a third of the trails are open for whatever reason that the cost is the same as if they where all open , clearly on a winter where snow is marginal it can't cost the same to maintain as if they were all open , and then get an increase in permit price ?

The cost are still high for a low snow winter. Insurances had to be paid for already and then the increase to crop damages due to low snow would have been costly to many clubs.

As I understand it the increase goes directly to a groomer fund?

Whatever , same ol same ol , the rich get richer and the poor get poorer , as stated many times in this thread Ontario is pricing it self right out of buisness for a better choice of words , there are other solutions but if none are tried nothing will change , enough said

I agree with that.

Really the only thing clubs would have saved on if fuel for the groomer and or repairs if stuff did not break. Most of the other stuff is spent on before the season starts I would think.

OFSC

I would like to know more about the OFSC,such as how many employee's they have and what kind of salaries they make, and how or who makes the decisions.

A good place to start is with your local club and/or district.
They should be able to provide the answers to your questions or advise whom you can contact, to fill in the blanks.

An important survey for Ontario riders to fill out.

Maybe this will work? :o|

Sasquatch, Thunderbolt, can you guys provide the link?
I assume after I did it I could no longer post the link? :dunno:

Help Decide the Future of Ontario Snowmobiling -
Give Your Opinion Before December 15th

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) and its 217 community based clubs are currently exploring an exciting new proposal for Ontario snowmobiling and we want to know what you think. The proposal is called "A Framework for Change" and if everything included is acceptable and receives necessary approvals, our clubs could choose to implement it as soon as the 2013/14 season.

A key part of our evaluation includes input from current and former Ontario snowmobilers, so we invite you to complete this brief internet survey no later than December 15.

Once you enter the secure survey web site, you'll see the major concepts being considered in the proposal and have an opportunity to weigh in on how these new directions may, or may not, affect you and your future participation in Ontario snowmobiling.

Thanks for helping out!
