Did the 2008 FXNytro MTX come with a tool kit, or just an empty nose cone bag?

It should have came with a plastic zip lock pouch inside the nose bag with some useless wrenches, pliers and a screw driver. The plastic bag would crack and fall apart after one ride. At least this is how my 08 came from new.

Well thats because the tools ain't really needed on a Yamaha.
Just for the looks.
7000 kms without any tools needed. Knock on wood
I too had the cheap tools better than nothing though. It also had the manual in there. 1l bottle of oil will fit in there as well.

Actually, those tools are needed... for helping out Doos. Needed it a couple of times last season. It has wrenches that the Doo tool kit should have but doesn't. And the Yam bag does self destruct. I should make another one out of old jeans or something.

Did the 2008 kit come in a cloth bag as well? My 2010 has the plastic bag and then a cloth bag with tools in it. Then there is the nose cone bag. My 2007 Phazer MTX came with just tools in the plastic bag. Since I am putting the 2008 into my "collection" I would like to have the correct tool kit with it (vintage sled people would understand, anyone else would think it was crazy.....)
I am thinking the dealer didn't include the tools with my sled back in 2008. No big deal, other than the dealer was a real jerk since before I even bought the 2008 new from them. I should have known better than to buy it from them anyways. Learned my lesson for the sled I just got this spring. He did not get my business again.

Hey Vmax4
My 2008 MTX came with the tools in the plasitc ziplock bag that was placed inside the nose cone bag that clips to the subframe. I am not sure if it came that way or the dealer i bought it from put the tools in the nose cone bag. There was not cloth bag that came with mine. If there was it never made it home with me.
As far as the tools in the bag go, they are like most smal tool kits that come with toys. They give you a few open end combination wrenchs that work on most of the bolts on the sled. A small standard/phillips screwdriver and a colapseable sparkplug wrench. Of course you would not want to try to rebuild the engine with them that is for sure

Agreed, just like having all the stuff for my collection. I know when I show my 1961 ski doo with the original owners manual, it is a cool thing. Not that I will show the tool kit for my Nytro anytime soon, but since my local dealer was such a jerk, it kinda got me heated up that he couldn't give me all the pices that were supposed to be with my snowmobile new.
HOWEVER, SINCE THEN I HAVE FOUND A GREAT DEALER!!!!! PALOUSE CONTRY SPORTS IN MOSCOW, ID. He is a great dealer and a great guy. Just my plug for him. Just took delivery of a 2010 FXNytro MTX SE 162 and he was great to work with.
