- 2020 Winder Ltx LE
While top speed is being discussed here, I'm hoping someone can offer me some tips to make my sled a consistent 90-95mph sled. I don't think that is being unreasonable. Its a 2018 LTX, 1.25 studded track, everything stock.
The sled pulls real hard up to 75mph, and under many conditions, I have a hard time seeing more than 80-83mph on the speedo. I know the gearing is different than the xtx's, and I have noticed my sled will pull harder up to 75 than those xtx's, but after that they fly by me. Anyways, no complaints about the overall power, just the top end speed. I did hit 93mph once this season, but my last trip out I hit 85mph max over 600km. Trails were very hard and flat (in fact 3 out of 4 sidewinders on the trip blew belts on the same stretch). I was holding it wide open for what seemed like 5 minutes, and the sled would not break 85mph.
I assume possibly track tension and gearing could make an impact here? On the twistys, I ride close to the front of the pack and this sled rails and pulls hard out of the turns. Really happy with that aspect, just think I should be able to pull a little more on the top end.
I've got about 3400miles on mine now, so I've gotten to know my sled pretty well. It all depends on the conditions..(obviously). I wouldn't say its hard to me to see more than 80-83mph. Unless there is fresh stuff on the trail or lake or whatever, 80mph should be easy to get. Above that it takes a bit of time. When I got 97, the lake was built for speed. 3/4 throttle was getting me 80 and above all day. I did find that as the more miles I put on it, the faster it goes. Mine is bone stock as well.
How many miles do you have on it?

I am at 1700 miles now. I checked my max rpm as well, and I'm pulling ~8970 I believe it was.
