I'm looking to swap tracks on my XTX for some better deep snow performance, and I'm not sure which on e to settle on. I haven't ridden my XTX yet, and the factory track is still on it. What is everyone else swapping for? Tracksusa told me I had to go with the 1.5 crossover, but..
I want to keep it a trail machine primarilly, but I'd like to be able to go where my buddy's 'Gade can go..

Nate...

Having rode Karen's xtx in some pretty good snow, the stock track isnt that bad.... that being said, there are better out there....

first off, for trail riding, i think you will want studs with this machine... it pulls hard, and for braking and reducing track spin, they are needed.... If this were my sled, i probably would have swapped out for either the cobra or a 1.5 track (if there is clearance for studs).....

For her, the ripsaw is just fine.... with the larger footprint, i think it will do just fine... again, are there better tracks for off trailing out there, for sure! Good luck my friend, hope to see you in muni this year!

I'll definately be there, Todd! Trying to get both sleds ready, and I think I'm just going to swap tracks on the Nytro, but the Apex....

I think the cobra would be ideal for you. I ran the stock ripsaw on mine and then swapped out for a cobra. AWESOME!! It hooks very hard in the soft stuff and just as good on the hardpack as the ripsaw. They say no loss in top end either with this track and I believe as I already hit 101 on the speedo with 80 miles on the sled and less than ideal conditions.

How does your track work when playing in the snow drifts, ditches, and deeper snow in the fields, Justin?
I don't think I need a mountain sled, but I want to avoid digging it out whenever I can!!

We dont have a whole lot of snow yet so I havent tried it in deep fluff or ditches yet but I noticed a huge difference in the little bit we have. Theres a crusty top layer right now iwth some softer stuff underneath and the cobra lifts the front end up and launches hard out of this stuff. The ripsaw would just shoot out a spray of snow outta the back and dig down. I think it will work great for me.

Hi all- been floating around here for awhile but not posted yet. I recently purchased my '09 XTX when my REV had a fairly catastrophic engine failure. I have ridden the XTX in pow up to about 3 ft deep and I find the stock track to be "adequate"- as in, I haven't been able to bury it yet. However, my REV has 136" x 2" paddle, and from that as comparison, I will agree that a deeper lug track would make the XTX a whole different machine. I am currently looking at 1.75's w/o studs for it but am hoping to find someone who has already put one on (any clearance issues, etc.) Depending on where you ride, I find studs typically are unnecc with a deeper lug track- only on the iciest days (which I usually avoid riding on). If anyone else has input on a deeper track for the XTX I would love to hear it too-

The xtx is basically the same as my machine (NYTRO FX) and other then removing the tunnel protectors up top there is alot of clearance everywhere. The 1.75 backcountry works really well.

I'm wondering how well my xtx will perform out west. I'm putting mtx skis on it this year. I have a feeling that I'll wish I had more traction but I'll try this first. I not really into high marking. [/url]

I put the Back Country and the little bit I've rode it I am verry impressed. It's quite stiff and hooks up crazzy. On the XTX you do have to trim your rail tips if you do the extros. I think its probably worth it though, I'm running my track sloppy loose and no ratcheting. Unbelievable hole shot with this track. Don't know about pow yet though.

TTT , for what it's worth , last year in the mountains the track worked good for me I was impressed. Of course in the mountains you can never have enough track though. Like you say the track hooks like a bear but after a year of drag racing and all around driving the lugs are still straight and still there amazingly enough.

Thats what I like to hear, hows the boost thing going for you. Right now I'm still in the dreaming stage but when they show the 2010s it might push me into it if they come out with a 165 hp Nytro.

The boost thing so far is pretty impressive. Lot more drivable then I thought. Powderlites does a nice job. I belive most guys with the xtx'x are trimming the rail tips alittle bit. I was spoiled on the fx cause they didn't need the trim. If your not racheting , don't put in the extros if you don't need to.
