Tracks USA rail installation

perfect I have done swaps on older Yamaha's and a couple MXZ's so i think the project should be easy enough.

Track swap on Phazer is very easy. I did like cannondale recommended and released the torsion springs to get the skid out much easier. I released springs, collapsed suspension and zip tied it down and it practically fell out haha

I might get to my track swap this weekend, I can take photos for you if that helps. I am replacing every idler wheel and bearing on the skidframe also since the origonal wheels have 5800km on them,

20141108_121310.jpg 20141108_121337.jpg I got everything tore out easy enough took me a few hours I had to run all the way into town to get a snap ring pliers.
only thing is I took out the rear idlers and cant seem to fit the washers in its just a bit tight. I might just muscle the rails
apart a little because i'm almost positive i got it in there right.

you have to drill the out! that's the best way.

phazer almost done.jpg
You also pulled the track already out.....that's fast! I havent removed my track yet....I have just removed the skidframe and installed all my sliders and rails...I have to replace every bearing and idler wheel as the sled has 5800km on it. I purchased idler wheels that come with bearings marked china...hopefully I can get 1 season on them.

my sled has 4000 mi. on it roughly, all the bogeys have been replaced though. I had a busy workweek and I just got new slides last night. I will be finishing the project today. those tensioners must have a press fitted rivet its rly weird ended up grinding the ends and trying to punch them out and then drilling most of the way through them then I was able to punch them out. as of right now the track is back in the chaincase is put back together the rails are installed just need to change the slides put in the rear bogeys and jam that suspension back up in there.

Are you going to extend the tunnel?

I dont think ill need to extend out the tunnel it looks about perfect to me.
worst comes to worse ill have a 4" pipe welded in to extend the grab bar and then re paint.
next project will be to go on a good ride check the plugs and then either re tune it or do the air box mod.

I talked to someone about extending the tunnel with the 136"...they said your snowflake metal bracket will hit it and chop the lugs...here is a pic of one extended.

Also look into getting the yamaha radaitor protector..its 45$ and will save your rad from getting beat up by ice/snow.
