And a easier way to take the hood off. Or I might keep it as a second sled. And trade the Vector. And I got a great number for that in trade as well. So I'm pretty happy with that. Thinking about maybe a two stroke. And trade it in every two years. Who knows...for sure I need something lighter for my wife as she likes to do more stuff and the Vector just is not capable. So I want a different sled for her!
If I was you I'd keep the viper, you already have the power and reliability, just throw some good shocks on it and trade the vector.

There is a good chance of that happening. But I will say one thing, I hope Yamaha comes with something more than a 600 class sled. To be honest I just want to keep everything stock and have it already be fast. It's kind of getting old, 12,000 dollar sled then 3-5000 dollars to make it 800 or better performance. I just want a fast sled out of the box start it ride it and take care of it! And trade it in every two years. I'm getting older and 800 just seems fine to me. I won't say which one. But it won't be freaken ugly yellow and orange! I promise that!

I was willing to give polaris a try but they couldn't even get their 2015s to demo rides, that tells me something.

But see it is only 2014 now - when they transported them down from the mother ship the DNA got screwed up and they were part fly!

In the past I have had really good luck with Polaris. I'm just not sure what I want to do hear. So I have just over a month to decide. Might just get a Viper LTX for her. I just love this motor. Would be nice if the made the 1049 into a 1080 and pumped around 30 more hp! Then it would be a easy choice!

Well good luck to you guys with your decisions. Really do like this engine, but tired of building/fixing everything around it.

Hey, I'm with ya! I had zero problems with my Nytro! It was fast and would take a beating! Sometimes I wish I never sold that. But the Viper handles so good that I'm worried that I won't have that with another sled. Oh well it's not a cheap sport! Good luck to you as well!

What kind of stuff did you have to fix?
I'd be curious to hear how that 800 Etec running as it crosses 3500 miles. From what I've heard, once the break in is completed the fuse is lit...
That and power valves coking up with carbon and sticking largely due to the excessive oil consumption.

Could very well be! I'm not a big fan of E Tec and I had over 7000 miles on the Nytro and never had a issue. My wife has the same 1049 in her Vector and just shy of 7000 miles and zero issues with the motor! Or anything with both sleds! I have had some issues with the Viper and kind of a bummer

If mine gets totaled I'm getting a left over XF 8000 sno pro but not sure yet. Not sure what a XTX Se with 1000 miles would bring w a replaced tunnel

As for carbon build up might be true. At least it won't have hot start issues and oil separator ball won't freeze and take your engine out
